sports bra's some support please!
Ok (blush) I really need some help, I am a larger chested gal and I need help finding a better sports bra. The only info. I've been offered in an arobics class is to wear 2?? sports bra's? Um..yah not so comfortable right, exspecially with straps diging in! I'm finding out I can not shop at the everyday retailers and will probably have to look at more expensive ones, thus I don't want to spend 38 bucks on a sports bra that fits like all the crapy other ones with no support. Thanks so much!

I am pretty happy with triumphs triaction extreme. It provides a good support and it comes in good sizes from 70 to 90 and cups B through F. Also I could try it on before I bought it which convinced me it ok for me. Actually I never buy a bra that I don't try firts...

^ same here, always try them first.
Some brands may feel totally different than what one could expect.

Hope I can help you out. I am a D cup and need MEGA support! Enell bras are by far the best in my opinion. They don't give you a nice shape though as they are compression bras and they are pretty damn ugly but I swear you will not budge in them!
The other brand I wear is Bendon. This bra is sooo comfortable and gives a great bustline.
And the third brand I wear is Freya. Not bad on the bust line either.
Hope this helps!

After I got implants I went up to an E cup. I wanted to make sure I kept my investment safe and supported. I tried on every sports bra known to man, and did the jumping up and down test to judge support. The only one that kept those bad boys supported and steady was the Fiona style by moving comfort. They cost about $45 each, but def. worth the money. They hold up really well as long as you hang them to dry after washing. The heat from the dryer can cause sports bras to lose their support and stretch out.

I wear Lilyette Bras. You can purchase them online, in department stores and sometimes at discount department stores like TJMaxx or Marshalls. I don't know what size your back is but I have always had a small back (38 at my heaviest) but large breast (FF cup at my heaviest). When I was wearing an FF I would wear a Lilyette Sports Bra and another cheap bra on top and wouldn't budge. Now that I am smaller, (34 E) I just wear a Lilyette Bra (High Impact---there are a range of them) and the girls are all good. If you are still losing weight an money is a consideration than I would check out TJMaxx. I have found a lot of great sports bra brands there for fractions of the cost. You might not be able to find fifty of the same bra but when you can get a bra that usually sells for $40+ for $12.99 it's always worth a look. Best of luck.
ETA: Another reason I like Lilyette Bras are because they have a line that does not have underwire in them. For whatever reason, no matter how expensive the bra, my underwire always eventually ends up poking me in the armpit. Not fun.

don't know if the kind I wear is British only but its a shock absorber, they are rated 1-4 depending on the impact of your sport and it works well. I'm not huge, a 36DD but big enough that the treadmill causes discomfort if I don't have a good bra. My sister is heavier breasted than me and swears by less bounce bras, hope that helps
shh, there may just be a bit of muscle starting to show under the fat:D

I have to go with Shock Absorbers too...i love them! i have huge boobs (32H) and i like to run and do a lot of high impact aerobics. I tried wearing two sports bras before, could hardly breathe and ended up pulling one off halfway thru my workout. I dont even think about my chest when im working out now. Im not a Fan of Freya as they give me great support but also very embarassing bullet boobs look! btw as shock absorbers are made in the uk you may need help figuring out your uk bra size, if u visit bravissimo.com the ladies there are amazingly helpful...also check out figleaves and brastop they sometimes have really good deals going.

Enell.
That's all I have to say.
If they are good enough for Oprah's boobies, they are good enough for mine

I am a smaller chested gal..so, my advice might not help. However, what I do is I buy the really cheap Fruit of the Loom sports bras from Walmart and just wear an actual bra underneath it. This way I get great support, and I get shape as well.

I'm based in the UK, and am a fan of the shock absorber brand, as the ones they do that give the highest levels of support (suited to sports like running and high impact aerobics, there's a key on the back of the pack or label that explains what level of impact they are designed for) definately do the job. Okay they can cost ?20-?30 (they used to do double packs one black one white that worked out at ?15 each), but for me sports bra's are a lot cheaper than the future boob lift I may end up considering if I don't ensure they are supported well! The other thing is I am a lot more likely to avoid the treadmill if the bra is not providing enough support, as it just gets downright painful after a few minutes!
You are saying the straps dig in, they shouldn't, ideally the band should do most of the work to hold your boobs in place not the straps, so you should try on a few in different sizes you may find you are actually a different bra size to what you thought you were. Additionally like with womens clothes different companys cut the bra's differently so your size my differ depending on the brand :-)
I've found since losing some weight (its come off all over), my sports bra straps no longer dig in, clearly I was overloading my bra!

Secret Ninja
Shock Absorber. I'm a 34 dd and have SUCH a freakin hard time finding one that actually does what it claims. I get the " LEVEL4 " ones and they're enough for me to sprint, and do Body Combat & Body Attack. I have a couple Nike bras that are okay for weights and spinning, but i have to double up if I need them for anything "bouncer"
I always look bizzare when I go out and try stuff for specific activities. In the changing room jumping up and down to test a bra, or doing high knee muay thai kicks & high knee runs in the store to test out how "cushy" these shoes actually are. Look like a total nut job probably, but i refuse to wate my cash!!
