I need help w/ this Biology question (reps)

Trying to figure out this take home quiz question out.

How does DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) encode information?

    A. In the number of each different nucleotide
    B. In the different shapes of the DNA molecules
    C. The genes along the length of DNA molecules encode the information for building all the cell's other molecules.
    D. The DNA molecule is composed of many amino acids joined together to form a functional protein.
    E. In the sequence of nucleotides.

    I can't figure out if it's C or E.

My book says "In each cell, the genes along the length of the DNA molecules encode the information for building the cell's other molecules"
but on another paragraph, it says "Genetic information is encoded in specific sequences of the four types of nucleotides"

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Definitely isn't C. Look at the wording: The genes along the length of DNA molecules encode the information for building all the cell's other molecules. Genes are a bunch of DNA molecules strung together, it's like saying "the paragraphs along the length of words encode information..." it should read the other way "the DNA molecules along the length of genes encode information..."

E is correct, the information is soley based upon the sequence or pattern of the 4 different nucleotides.

And also, the genes in DNA does NOT encode the information for building all the cells' other moleucles. DNA only encodes for protein. I guess technically you can say that the proteins build the other molecules, but that's like saying a computer-building manual has the information to build nuclear missiles...

Either bio or biochem, took AP bio in high school and intro bio in college (lol wouldn't let me skip with a 5 on the AP test). Though admittedly my molecular biology is a bit rusty because college bio was for idiots (srsly, 1/3 semester on evolution, another 1/3 semester on environment, and only 1/3 semester on animals and plants, and practically NOTHING on molecular biology).

its E, the way the question is worded its gota be E. How? nucleotides, its that simple. There are nucleotides that do nothing, that regulate genes, etc. They are still information that you can't discount.

Ok, one more quick question i'm a little unsure of.
Attributes that are common in both prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells?

    A. Membrane-enclosed organelles
    B. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells are generally about the same size (can't be this one, Eukaryotic are larger)
    C. The use of proteins as information storage molecules (don't see anything about protein)
    D. The use of DNA as the information storage molecule (both have DNA, but Pro lacks a nucleus)
    E. A membrane-enclosed nucleus (no nucleus in pro)

So I'm trying to figure if its D or A? They are both cells however, which are bigger than organelles I think?

I'm pretty sure prokayrotes don't have membrane enclosed organelles. I'd go with D.

    Definitely D.

Prokaryotes are like primordial cells in a sense. They lack a lot of the organization that eukaryotic cells have, such as the nucleus and membrane bound organelles.

Actually, I think there is a theory out there that some of the organelles of eukaryotic cells are actually prokaryotic cells that were engulfed and formed a symbiotic relationship. Forget the name of the organelle, but it is the "Powerhouse" of the cell.

Long time since I studied this stuff.
