    Benefits of pull-ups/chin-ups?

As opposed to bent over barbell rows and T-bar rows?

I wouldn't bother with it because once you get heavy enough. It might damage your door frame. Just do pull ups at the gym. IMO.

you need both horizontal and vertical pulling to develop impressive back size. The main benefit of rowing are that they can take the strain off your shoulders from excess pressing. If i was to choose from pullups or barbell rows, i would choose the rows all day long. (i'm not saying that cause i am poor at pullups cause i can do 25 pullups at 200+lbs)

Mmk thanks. And the bar can withstand 300 lbs (@ Chaos). Loads of good reviews, it doesn't do damage to the doorframe, the only question is - is it worth doing them?

    Seems like mixed opinions.

definitely do them, i may feel rows are better than pullups, but pullups are still fantastic. I do both.

k I bought it.. When I was on holiday I had access to a gym (normally workout at home) and I did wide grip chin ups. Lats did get noticeably bigger, so I guess I might as well go for it. Only ?20.

    Thanks for replies.

    This.

Vertical pulling is more for width and rows for thickness.
