shoulder pain from low bar squats

hi, title pretty much says it all; I'm an OLer so my standy is pretty much high bar squats however I decided to go with rippetoes ideology for a while and try out some low bar 'athletic' squats, they were going pretty well I was able to put up about 25lbs on my high bar PR in about a month but recently I haven't been able to hold the bar past 2 plates cause of this glaring pain in my shoulder right where the rear delt meets with the lat on the right side. I know it isn't a flexbility problem since I'm able to do shoulder dislocations with a clean grip (~ at the rings or a little inside that) and its only on one shoulder, what do you guys think it could be? any help is appreciated

Dunno if your doing it already or not, but make sure your not supporting the bar with your arms in a low bar position. Make sure your keeping all the weight on your back/rear delts. I started to have problems like that and keeping my upper back tighter and concentrating on keeping the weight on my back not arms helped it out alot.

Check your form. If you don't groove it just right in the shelf it could have stressed your shoulder a bit. I think this often happens to people who are fairly new to low bars.

I've had this problem before - I use a very low bar placement and also have ridiculously flexible/dislocatable shoulders. I found that if I had my hands too wide, it would be really uncomfortable on my rear delts, and eventually be pretty unbearable as the weight got heavier. Once we brought the hooks out on the monolift so I could get my hands in closer to my shoulers, I never had that problem again.
