    Adding Caffeine to a Protein Shake

    My girlfriend is interested in making protein shakes in the mornings for breakfast, but wants to know if she can throw in anything for caffeine that would be equivalent to one cup of coffee in the mornings.

    I don't take any caffeine sups and don't know what exactly she should take either, so any advice would be helpful.

    you can just use coffee as the liquid. i have my post w/o protein shakes with an XL coffee haha. you can also get allmax caffeine pills for 10$ at supp stores. throw that in or take the pill with the drink.

    I just add instant coffee, a little boiling water to dissolve and then my whey+skim milk. Or if my machine is working an espresso shot and then make shake as normal.

    Adding liquid coffee seems to be the way to go, or you can add instant coffee or espresso (for more caffeine). Cocoa powder, walden farms caramel sauce, da vinci sugarfree syrups can all be added to make it even tastier. The flavor of caffeine pills is pretty vile so I would not add them to a drink.
    The only thing worse than having a bad plan, is having no plan.

    If you're doing it right, it never gets any easier.

    If coffee gets old, throw in a 1/2 or full scoop of WF or SP250. That will get you going in the morning.

    I'm a protein shake wuss. lol. I drink Atkins Chocolate Advantage Shakes because they also serve as my daily vitamin supplement. I have one of these every morning mixed with a cup of coffee. It tastes incredible.

    Pretty much every morning I have 1 cup of skim milk, vanilla protein powder and a heaping tsp of instant coffee all put in a shake. It tastes awesome!

    I have a "mocha" every morning! I just add chocolate whey protein to my coffee, a little SF sweetener of choice and I'm all set! I may even have one of these pre-workout for a little extra boost.

    Lately I've been starting my mornings with: cold black coffee + a little almond milk + veg protein + flax seed oil + blended w/ ice = favourite cold summer drink... and w/ protein!

    Cold coffee is a great mix.

    Didn't read the thread, but Starbucks sells instant coffee called Via. It comes in individual servings so you don't even need to measure. Or she can mix it with tea.

    I tried this after reading about it - heaven in a cup... I got my usual dymatize chocolate powder, mixed in some skim milk and drip coffee... DELICIOUS! Oh my goodness.. I need more coffee recipes please !

    I just brew a pot of double strong coffee and keep it in the fridge and mix with my protein powder for mornings, but there is a protein powder that has powdered espresso in it called Click. Folks I know love it and rave about it. I am a bit too cheap though, 28ish bucks for 15 servings? Nah.

    But those who drink it usually love it! And can do more stupid stuff faster! :} (oh wait, that's with an alcoholic coffee drink)
