Novadex XT
Several years ago my bro-in-law Cardiologist/Internist reacted to my complaints about fatigue, moodiness and sudden loss of strength. He tested me for Testosterone and Estroidols. I was 219 Test (350 minimum) and 65 Estrogen (45 maximum). He commented that I must be the strongest girl in the gym. I went on minimal 5mg AndroGel HRT and re tested 6 weeks later. 650 Test and still 65 Est. He asked what the Bodybuilders were using for over the counter anti Estrogen as he does not like to prescribe the prescription version to men. I did some antecdotal research and came up with Novadex XT. I started the reccomended dosage and re tested 6 weeks later. 1150 Test and 45 Est. I have continued to re test with similar results. I cycle 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off.
I told Rich Gaspari about this and all I got was a T shirt.

I had read a number of reviews on Novadex which had conflicting opinions. Have there been different versions of it? Or is it just a matter of it affecting different people in different ways?
(Or perhaps people talking with no data, only "feelings").

As with supplements, over the counter or prescription storage is key. Hope this helps

BTW...I get my blood panel done quite often and my liver enzymes are high but within normal range except BUN which is very high but understandable for high protein consumers. A spill over effect if you will. I tried an over the counter PH for Test for one week 2-3 months back and by chance had my panel done for another condition. All of my liver enzymes went thru the roof. Tossed that chit fast!!! Month later back onto my norm HRT and Novadex XT and I tested out just fine as usual. Estrogen is a libido killer for me. Little Baldie goes on vacation during NXT cycle off time. I get out my old knitting project and play with the kitties at the pet store.
Now has any of this added any muscle? IMO not an ounce. However, it gets me in touch with my inner A hole which gives me the attitude I need to train like an NFL linebacker instead of his grandfather. That, consistency and patience (plus a perfecto diet) adds the muscle my friends.

Good thread...Getting older ain't for sissies...I also monitor my blood work carefully..especially liver and kidney...because of the suppements...I get full spectrum blood work at the VA twice a year...another solution for low T are the shots...

Are we talking Nolvadex (tamoxifen citrate), or Gaspari's Novedex XT?
Novedex XT is non-prescription and available on bodybuilding.com: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/gn/nxt.html
I was assuming Baldie was referring to the OTC one (Novedex XT)?

R you sure you are talking about Novadex XT by Gaspari and not something like Nolvadex? Novadex can be bought right from this site

What journal are you talking about?
- I have been on novadex xt for about 2 weeks now and have gone up on previous lifts that I have not been able to achieve for months... For instance I have been stuck on Bench at 225LBS for a few months, last week a PR at 235LBS and this week 240LB I never thought I would be able to bench 250LBS but now I feel it is in reach.

there was some debate on the effectiveness of novadex XT (pretty much between some of those who haven't tried and some of those who have)
In order to put it to the test there were 3 volunteers selected who will take the product as recommended (sponsored by bodybuilding.com and gaspari nutrition) and, taking a test before and at the end of the cycle to get there relative testosterone numbers. The will also be journaling their progress.

The sample should be larger.........with diverse ages...Body weights etc. I don't know if testing just three will yield valid conclusions...

How can you say it should be more diverse when the only name that Chodan gave was mine?

Need a larger sample (more lab rats) in order to have a real comparison as to the effectivness. i.e. more than three...

But you said ages and weights....
it is me, pac8X8 and NuclearArms.
Me and Pac8X8 and about the same age and weight but he has more lean mass than me and much lower BF. So if Novedex does what it claims to do I should see a large amount of BF dropped.
Nuclear is older than us and outweighs me by 60lbs or so. I think all 3 of us have different lifting goals. Not sure how big of a sample that you wanted to see.

how strict is the record keeping going to be? I'd be interested in trying it to see if it would help me burn fat rather than increase muscle mass. I'm terrible at keeping journals, however.

The three members I selected were picked for their attention to detail.

Wow, a Novadex XT thread. And Baldie started it, no less.
I tried out a bottle of Novadex XT on a whim and the vague recollection that Baldsnake tried it and got good results. I appreciated the actual evidence of effectiveness that he presented. Thanks Baldie!
I, however, have no such science to back up my claims about the effectiveness of NXT. The one and only time I talked to my doctor about my hormone levels, he treated me like I was complaining that my ears were too big. He just didn't get it...
Anyway, I'm on my 3rd or 4th bottle of NXT at this point and all I can say is that I'm better on it than off.
Me off NXT:
Tired, un-motivated, depressed, submissive, quiet. Follows the rules. Colors within the lines. Happy to have nice chats with the ladies. Any workout that breaks a sweat is good enough.
Me on NXT:
Energetic, driven, and loud. Likes to drive fast. Doesn't take crap from the wife, kid, or anyone else for that matter. Happy to look down ladies dresses. Any workout that fails to yield a new victory pisses me off and makes me want to try harder next time.
Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but you get the point. I may not have the numbers to back up my assertions, but I do feel pretty good when I'm on NXT and that's good enough for me for now. If I ever find a doc who lifts, I'll try to get some numbers for me and anyone who cares to listen.
