adding weight a exercise

If you are able lets say add 5- 10 pounds or more each workout on a exercise will to much of a increase cause u to plateau ?

Add what you can do safely with good form. If that's five pounds, it's five pounds. If you find you can't add five pounds next workout, then try to add another rep. If you can't add a rep, then try to add weight or reps next time.
