Arrow Big Back, Big Chest, Real Fast

I just read this article on Tmuscle and I'm not sure what to make of it. I doubt it.
Anybody want to be a test pilot?

    http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_a...hest_real_fast

    "Program Cliffs
    Six days each week you'll do 100 push-ups and 50 pull-ups.

Do this program for six days each week for three weeks straight. Then, refrain from any upper body pushing or pulling movements for five full days. This will allow for any supercompensation that might be lagging behind. In other words, many people get bigger during the five days off.

What can you expect? At least two inches of new girth added to your chest measurement. You'll have trouble finding a training system that will build muscle faster!
    "

What do you think of that?

    IMO, pull-ups and push-ups aren't enough.

DB Rows will make your lats grow. Throw them in with Pull-Ups on your back day and you should get a bit wider.

For a big chest, nothing is going to beat benching. Bench, Flies, Crossovers, etc.

The article isn't claiming that doing pushups and pull ups will give you a huge back and chest. They are saying that high frequency training with these bodyweight exercises will cause growth. And I can't really knock it, since I haven't tried a method like this

I can almost guarantee my chest would shrink after 3 weeks of doing nothing but pushups, no matter how many. This might work for someone relatively new to the game, but for intermediate or better lifters who are already working with poundages well above their own bodyweight, I just dont see this working well.

I agree, if you haven't tried it, how do you know it won't work. Everybody's body is different, so you can't say my buddy tried it and it didn't work so the whole thing is shizzer.

Then again it makes it hard to even think about trying it when no one has any concrete evidence on if it works or not (other than the author).

    Interesting.

I thought that Tmuscle site was supposed to be good? I see many funny articles like this on there.

This program would most likely kill any strength gains you've achieved.

For example, you could do five pull-ups every hour for 10 hours. Or you could do 10 pull-ups five times per day. Or you could do 13, 8, 7, 6, 6, 5 and 5 reps over the course of three hours. In the end, it doesn't matter.

thats not a good routine... 100 pushups and 50 pull ups over 6 days? most of the people who work out already are used to heavy bench or back workouts more than their body weight... i dont think this workout would be very effective for people who have been working out for a while maybe people who are just starting

almost seems kinda like military training...pullups and pushups in large consumption!! i guess with my experiences being in the military...i did get strong in those areas, and i got cut up!! but overall i would still need the pressing and rows to add to the picture for mass gains!
