Throwing up on leg day
I know its supposed to be all "hardcore" if u puke cause ur training so hard....but i cant even finish my leg workout cause im always feeling nauseated...today was the first time in a WHILE that i actually threw up though...and it wasnt even my pre-workout( i wait at least 2 hours before i hit the gym after i eat on leg day) it was the water i drank at the gym..u think if i dont drink water while at the gym on my leg day it will help?? and im gonna go back in a few hours to finish my leg routine(hams and calfs)...good idea or no??

I think it could be nerves. Leg day makes me so nervous that my stomach gets really upset before I start.
...could be the same type of thing

To much water can cause you to throw up, drink less more often while you work out, don't gulp.
If you do have to puke, go puke, then get back to work. You shouldn't have to go back to finish up, you should have gotten right back to work.

This happened to me before on leg day as well and I'm pretty sure it was cause of the water. I was gulping the water down me really fast and refilled my bottle a couple of times. I felt really nausious but it wasn't til i got home that i puked.
I just sip the water slowly now, even holding it in my mouth for a few seconds before swallowing it. Haven't felt sick or puked since. Give that a go

It helps me to keep cool when im doing legs. If its hot i feel sick as f*ck. Sip your water in between sets dont gulp loads down. Did you not feel better after throwing up? Thats usually the case so its probly better off to carry on after. Its fine to go back yeah but next time stay and finish.
Remember though, throwing up isnt good. If everytime you train legs you feel so bad you have to then so be it. Never strive to throw up, its not hardcore.

I feel like that too, actually quite recently and I had to cut my workout short.
I think it may be due to not having enough glucose or maybe electrolytes. Did you have any kind of electrolyte supplementation or enough sugars before going to the gym?
Also, this might sound funny, but sometimes I feel nauseous because I am not getting enough oxygen, since when I work out really hard I breath less... so I try to remember to take deeper breaths. It seems that I will breath faster if doing cardio but when in resistance training I tend to forget to take deeper and more frequent breaths of air. It could be the increased alkalinity/Co2 in your blood that is making you feel nauseous.
I don't know, just throwing those out there.

The reasons I will throw up on leg day are:
1. Intensity without any carbs
2. Intensity on full stomach (too much water at once can cause this)
3. Eating or drinking a shake too fast right after workout
4. Misc sickness (in otherwords I should have just stayed in the bed)
Hope you find your reason good luck!

If it makes you feel any better, I puked on the bumper of my car one time, after leg day. Finished up exercises, left gym. Started to get in car and was like sh!t I'm gonna puke. Couldn't even make it all the way in front of it lulz.

UFCBuilder- Nice!
And yeh, Frequent, little gulps of water, not a whole bunch at once... Or just a lil gatorade... And bo, it happens. I'm pretty sure any serious builders have thrown up at one time or another. Don't sweat it that much.

Sit down right after you do the leg workouts... if squating grab a chair and sit down right after for a minute or so to recoup your senses.
And if you leg press stay seated for a minute or so.
What's probably happening is you're not breathing right (or breathing at all) and then you stay standing and your body is telling you to stop...
Or you're not warming up properly and when you do the heavy squat set, all the blood in your body rushes to your legs and away from your head...
Either way (1) warm up properly and (2) sit yo but down after the set.

Nausea and vomiting during lifting is usually a conditioning (lactate threshold) issue, and is rarely attributed to water ingestion.

thank for the advice man...i think its a combo of me not breathing properly and chugging too much water in between sets

IMO split up legs if your whole workout is too intense for you, if not lower the volume. You could do Hamstrings on a separate day with say back or something like that. Do you deadlift on leg day too? If so move that to a different day. Just my two cents

thanks for the advice...i wont lower intensity or volume tho..i LOVE working legs lol...i try some of the suggestions before my next leg day and see if they help..if not..i guess ill just have to keep on coming back at night to finish of the routine...and i dont deadlift on leg day...deadlifts and squats would be killer on my lower back

Trained back today and spent like 10 minutes in the toilets with the "mouth waters" you know that feeling you get right before you throw up, couldent even talk just had to keep spitting and swallowing.
This was because i was still eating my breakfast (pre workout meal) as i was walking into the gym.
Moral of the story: Dont eat lots of food right before you lift weights.
I usually wait 30-45 minutes after my breakfast before i train and im fine. But today i woke up late.
EDIT: Just saw you train 2 hours after your pre-workout meal.
Not to sure then maby you are not hydrated properally, drink more water during and before lifting it might help.

ya legs should be your hardest workout, there are alot of muscles in your legs(upper) and you should work them like your biggest muscles. And i agree about not doing deadlifts on leg day, i try to keep it minimum 1-2 days in between, i consider deadlifts a prosterier chain workout and great mass builder.
