    Question frustrated with glutes

    To ladies over 35
I am 43, 5'5 and 105 lbs. I have a slender built with a small but soft and rather flat butt. I've been working my glutes 4-5 times a week for 3 months and see no results. I change my workouts every 3-4 weeks, and have tried probably every glute exercise out there. Am I expecting too much if i want a firm, round butt at my age? Is it possible? All feedback welcome.

You're over working your glutes for one thing. Twice a week is plenty. It will take time too. Muscle gains don't happen quickly. Especially on such a large muscle group. Diet may also be a factor. If you aren't eating enough it's going to be tough to build muscle.

Well whilst Freebird is kinda right, you have been over-working your glutes, she hasn't taken into consideration what exercises you've been doing because you haven't told us.

Now if you've been doing heavy assed squats, sumo's and all sorts then yeah too much. However if you've been thinking you can sort your glutes with body weight stuff and not really lifting any weight, then sorry nope it's never gonna happen no matter how much you work those babies!

Yep! I was assuming you were doing the usual exercises, squats, lunges, deads, etc and lifting heavy.

    What they said.^^

But, at that height and weight, you lack overall muscle...look closer at your diet. You need to eat in order to build!

If you're able to train glutes 4-5 times a week...you're not training heavy enough...no way...

I do squats, lunges, deadlifts with barbell about twice a week, the rest is cable kickbacks, sumos, split squads, one legged bulgarians, leg press, stepmaster intervals 2x week. Sometimes I go lighter with higher reps, sometimes heavy (as much as I can do for 3x8 or 4x6). I eat about 1600 cal/day and 100g protein. Shall I do fewer exercises and heavy only?
