Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.Since your body was fasting for 8 hours, you should eat a large breakfast with plenty of nutrients.I try to make my breakfast the biggest meal of the day.Breakfast jump starts your metabolism as well which could help you loose weight.
I would say a good breakfast for bodybuilders would be
Oatmeal because it is a slow acting carbohydrate and there's alot of other benefites of taking it.
And also a protein shake or some eggs on the side.
This is a good mix because it's carbs and proteins.

TOPIC: What Is The Best Breakfast For A Bodybuilder?
I eat 1.5cups of oatmeal, 6 egg whites, an avacado and maybe a banana or an orange. I also have been experimenting with carb-cycling so on my high carb days it changes up a bit.

I am a huge fan of a weigh gainer shake
I really like a weight gainer shake because your body is basically empty when you wake up. It is a good blend of protein and carbs, which is even good for the early morning lifter. I personally prefer cytogainer just because it is low in sugar so that you have a good healthy insulin boost.
Cyto gainer:
580 calories which can be manipulate
5g fats
79g carbs-complex carb source (longer to burn)
54g protien

For breakfast I like cottage cheese with peaches(or your favorite fruit), and a protein shake.

Not only that, but if you workout in the morning the casein in the cottage cheese helps feed your muscles throughout the day. And if you take protein with casein, even better.

For breakfast
The one exception to eating breakfast right after you wake up is if you do cardio first thing in the morning. Early morning, on an empty stomach is the best time for doing cardio, as the body will immediately call upon its fat stores for fuel. This does not negate the need for breakfast, though. If anything, doing early morning cardio makes it even more crucial that you get a good breakfast upon completion. Breakfast is also important to improving one's metabolism. Just by eating a sound breakfast, you can raise your metabolism significantly.
From a bodybuilder's perspective, let's take a look at what a lack of breakfast will do to all your hard work at the gym. The body, through the consumption of protein, absorbs nitrogen, a key to muscle gain. Your body also naturally excretes nitrogen throughout the day. When a person's daily intake of nitrogen from protein equals the daily excretion of nitrogen that is called "Nitrogen Balance." A negative nitrogen balance occurs when the excretion of nitrogen exceeds the daily intake. This contributes to muscle loss due to the fact that the muscles are being torn down, with not enough material being supplied to rebuild them.
On the other hand, the consumption of more nitrogen than what is being expended, or "positive nitrogen balance" can lead to muscle growth. While sleeping, our bodies almost always go into a negative nitrogen balance. This in turn causes our metabolisms to turn catabolic, which is the breakdown of muscle tissue for energy. This is normal, and not something to panic about. What it should do is make you to think twice before skipping breakfast. Skipping this crucial meal only makes your hard work and dedication a waste of time. Remember, the key to a sound body is about 35% training, 65% nutrition.

1) The best breakfast for a bodybuilder is one that consists of high quality protein, complex carbohydrates, and essential fatty acids.. egg whites, whole eggs, chicken breast, extra lean ground beef, whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat toritllas, high fiber and protein cereals, 1% milk and peanut butter are good options... Use olive oil to cook the eggs
What are some good options for breakfast when one is pressed for time?
2)A good option for breakfast would be simply to mix a shake together with whey, fruit, and peanut butter. A good breakfast shake would be Whey/Banana/PB
1-2 scoops whey, 1 large banana, 1-2tbs peanut butter.
What are some things one should avoid adding in their breakfasts?
3) One shoud avoid donuts, white bagels, frozen breakfasts like breakfast muffins with eggs because of all the excess fat.. Another thing to avoid is eating a carb-based meal without any protein. Sugary cereals should be avoided because they contain little if any nutrition for a bodybuilder.
BONUS QUESTION: What does your breakfast normally consist of? I have three different breakfasts that i rotate.. My workout breakfast is after my postworkout shake.. It consists of
4oz extra lean ground beef
3 egg whites
1 egg yolk
1/2 swiss cheese slice
diced green bell peppers, onions, red bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach, and jalapenos.
Then i bake an 8 oz sweet potato and top it with Cocoa powder, sugar free maple syrup and 1/2 tbs peanut butter.
On nonworkout days i stick to my Kashi Go Lean Cereal with Lactaid milk...
1 cup Kashi with cocoa powder and melted pb
5oz FF lactaid
OMLETTE
2 egg whites
2 whole eggs
1 slice swiss cheese
diced red/green peppers, mushrooms, spinach, jalapenos
Option 2 non-workout
2 slices ezekial bread(french toast) and sugar free male syrup with natty PB
3 egg whites, 1 yolk, cinnamon, splenda (dip bread into mixture)
2 egg whites with 2 oz chicken breast
diced veggies and swiss cheese omelette
this is the best

I second the shake. I have a hard time eating a monstrous breakfast first thing in the morning, so a gainer is great for me, especially since most of the protein in mine is whey, so it helps break that overnight fast more quickly. I mix Universal with 10-12 ounces of coffee.
Universal:
601 calories
5g fat
87g carbs (although some of that is malto-dextrin, but in the AM, insulin spike is okay)
52g protein

Oatmeal is the all time favorite breakfast. I think most of the bodybuilders would agree with this...

Best breakfast = lots of protein... I suggest egg whites sauteed with tomato, some part skim cheese, and a salt-free seasoning blend. I usually pair it with some yogurt and light whole wheat toasts.
When pressed for time.... a protein shake with 2 scoops of isolate and alot of frozen fruit or mixed with peanut butter. A low sugar granola bar to snack on a couple hours later.
Avoid.... lots of sugar, alot of salt, and alot of empty carbs
My breakfast = the egg white combo above :-)
