It's an interesting topic.
I remember reading about how some soundtracks match up, like watching the movie The Wizard of Oz while listening to Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.

Yeah I've heard that too but have a few questions... Do you have to have some pot first? How many cones do you have to pull beforehand, and do you need to slow The DarkSide of the Moon down to hear it properly?

I saw a TV special on it once, but never tried it. I don't think I could sit through that without getting bored.
Stuff like this always amazes me not only in it's existence, but how it's discovered. Somewhere, sometime, someone went through all their vinyl records and played them all backwards, probably over and over and over again.

Coincidence. Kinda like how the whole Pink Floyd album "Darkside Of The Moon" coincides with the "Wizard of Oz."

Yeah, with that in mind, you need to question how desperate the people on persons were to 'actually hear something'. I'm partly sceptical, especially with the zep tune. The first time someone played it I couldn't make out anything. Just after he told me then I could. Not totally convinced... but still it's interesting.

Besides a very few musical grouos who did it intentionally, I think most of it is total b.s.

I was at a house party about 10 years ago and they did this. A few of the parts did make some sense if you were trying really hard to make sense out of it, but all in all it was pretty much 2 hours of fail. Sadly, the stiffs throwing the party had no drugs , just alcohol. More fail.

My church did this back in the early 1980s. It made me laugh. Unless you're son of Sam and have dogs talking to you, there's no need to search for hidden messages. People have a hard enough time communicating properly, I can't imagine trying to 'mask stuff' especially as you don't hear it backwards unless you are trying to do so. Hidden messages really do not work - even the hidden ones used in the 1050-60s to try a sell colas and popcorn at the movies. lol.

I've done it a few times over the years (showed it to my kids too ). I think it was some guys at Princeton (seriously, or some other Ivy League school) that came up with this. It does seem to go with a great deal of it, but it has to be started (CD) right after the MGM lion's second roar . And yes the album ends long before the movie does. I found the tornado coming to be one of the eerier syncs.

Yeah they started it after the lion roar and then just let the disk repeat until the movie ended. I do remember the tornado part. I might rent wizard one night when I'm bored and try it at home. I was probably too busy trying to get myself laid and wasn't paying enough attention through the whole thing. Good to see that this is what the folks over at Princeton are working on .
