You are not in a position that bulking is wise; you should be aiming to maintain or gain strength while losing ~1 pound per week (doable as a new trainee).
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
    1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

    I agree ^^^.

OP, in looking at your pictures and stats: 5' 9", 210 pounds, lots more than 10% body fat. You don't need to be bulking right now.

You are doing it properly (bulking) if you are gaining weight and strength. Dont expect to be "cut".. that's what a cut is for. Eating over your maintenance daily and heavy lifting will set you right. Worry about cutting later.

As long as your scale does not go up too fast, and you're gaining strength / don't feel like **** when you workout, it should be working.
