magnum research micro eagle

anyone shot one of these yet.

bit heaftier than an lcp but dimensionally smaller.

price is no factor, wondering if anyone has enough time in on one to see if there's any common issues with them.

It's a copy of the ZVI KEVIN pistol.

That might get you some more information on it. Youtube has some range videos.

One of my friends has had one for a little while now. As far as long term problems, he has not had any problems with it. It has held up and shot reliably and consistently.

When he first got it, he had a few problems with it actually feeding rounds once he started shooting (I had the same experience with my Baby Eagle), but after a few outings the problem pretty much fixed itself and it has not been a problem at all since. I didn't like the trigger pull on it (or my Baby Eagle for that matter) very much. It's hard to describe, but it feels less smooth than on some other handguns I've fired. <-- Although the Micro Eagle is the only gun its size that I have fired, so I can not compare it to others like it. Obviously it is a small gun, so if you have big hands, it may be uncomfortable/ akward to hold simply due to the size. Otherwise, it actually is a comfortable.

It was a little more accurate than I expected. It kind of dropped off in the accuracy department beyond 25 yards though (hey maybe I just can't shoot).

My friend really likes it, plus it's made in the US (if it matters to you). The couple of times I have shot it, I liked it too. I am not the most well versed person on handguns, but I would probably say go ahead and get it if you're looking at one. I have read other reviews and talked to one other person about it, and nobody really had complaints.

When you get it, you gonna change the gun in your avi and replace it with the micro eagle?

i've already got a j-frame .38spl for a pocket gun. was looking for some extra variety in that niche and saw the micro eagle next to an lcp in the case.

as far as accuracy goes, you're not gonna get too much out of pistols with a sub 3" barrel. if you can hit anything past 20yds you're doing great.

Oh, I was not expecting it to be accurate too far out. I think it would make for a great pocket gun though. If money is not an issue, I'd buy one.

I just think its too big/heavy for what it is. Ide rather just get a Ruger or keltec which is significantly slimmer and lighter.

If i wanted a 15oz gun ide go with a Kahr 9mm.

I'm sure that Ruger or Keltec are not good options, but the Micro is shorter, and only slightly wider than the Ruger LCP. I think the Micro is heavier, like you said, but I imagine it makes the recoil slightly more manageable. I don't have experience with the Ruger or Keltec, but I'm sure any of the 3 are good options.

Edit- Prior to posting this I did not see the picture you posted... it obviously says the specifications of both guns, so disregard this post.

In person, the Micro eagle seems alot thicker and alot heavier than the LCP.

Ive stuck both guns in my pocket, and the micro eagle bulges considerably more and i can feel the weight.

The extra barrel length doesnt seem to matter at all on the lcp, it is very slim and very light.

As far as shooting, i havnt shot the Micro eagle. But the ruger is a bitch. I am accurate with it, but after 2 mags my hand is numb.

I own a LCP btw.

i didn't get a chance to drop either one in my pocket to compare as there was a model 60 in there at the time.

the 60 is much bigger than the eagle and a metric crap ton bigger than the lcp and it doesn't print in the least in any of my normal pants/shorts. doesn't do so well in my work pants, but i'm not carrying on the job of course.
