Whoever did madcows 5x5 programme GTFIH
i just started today.
squats was a killer , bb rows was okay.
but the bench was kinda not as tough as i expected.
in fact it was too easy.
well the last 2 sets were hard to lift up , but wasn't as intense.
can anyone explain to me or tell me if i'm doing it wrongly ?
Thanks , help appreciated.

uh...doesn't add up breh.
the bench press was "Easy" but you had a hard time with the last 2 sets?
intensity comes from the lifter, not the program
and if the lifts are a bit light, that's the point. madcows builds momentum.
if your squats were hard, then you're doing something wrong

This. Just follow the program man, its meant to gradually build up, and nothing should really be "hard" at this stage but they shouldn't be extremely easy either.

The last 2 sets were a little challenging.
But overrall for chest , i didn't feel sore , or at least it didn't feel as intense as a normal chest workout.

Well , i guess i should follow the programme.
Or maybe its because i don't have a spot for bench and didn't dare to stack up more weight.

Why are you on Madcows? Isn't that an intermediate program?

yep, you build momentum.
you start 10% (15% for me) lighter than your 5RM for 4 weeks then after that you hit PRs every week.
the lifts are meant to be easy when you start off. excellent program for strength.

i've lifted since 07 .
i'll pretty much consider myself not being a beginner.
well , i stopped lifting after awhile.
And i just picked up the weight last week for the first time in 6 months.
Lost 15kgs , and obviously strength went down alot.
But its gaining quick and unbelievely big changes to my body in just 1 week of lifting lol.

I would still try Rippetoes until you see absolutely no gains, then switch to Madcows. It's up to you Bro. Good luck either way!

As that other guy said. If its your first week it should be easy. Then after that it gets harder and harder. I upped my PRS by 25% after 14 weeks. Worked really good imo. Really solid program
