for me eating a full meal makes me not be able to sleep well so i turn to shakes for before i go to bed, i normally mix casein with some whey and either make a shake or a little bit of sludge. after doing this for a while i thought about just getting a protein blend like probolic sr, but that stuff to me dosent taste that great, any advice on what kind to get? i was thinking something like Syntha-6.
will rep for help, thanks!

Dry milk powder, mix it with either plain water or liquid milk. Far cheaper than any protein powder and has everything you need and a perfect balance of casein and whey.

I've only tried 2 kinds of mixed protein blends - MHP probolic and ON Nitrocore and I highly recommend nitrocore!

Tastes like milk, but a bit stronger, all in how much you use. I would recommend making it thinner though as opposed to the "slush" that you mentioned above. The reason some people will shy away from it is that it does have fat (but no more than whole milk). But my diet is fairly low-fat so I don't worry about it. I think the cheap price and convenience (Walmart sells them in a box of 20 packs, perfect for traveling) makes up for it. Just keep it in mind if your worried about your fat intake.

lol not slush, sludge lol, its almost like a protein pudding made with PB, whey and or casein, and water or milk, its very good and helps keep you sane on a cut cuz it taste like a dessert.
im deff going to try this out and see how it goes, yeah im going to have to match how much drink cuz i think i already get in a good amount of fat

Nitrocore and Myofusion have similar profile's
I have not tried the latter, but everyone says Myofusion is delicious and it has less fat and carbs compared to Nitrocore, so it's probably better for cutting
however, you would have to mix it with milk pre bed because it doesn't have slow digesting casien.
Nitrocore has casien though...http://www.********.com/valenzuelatech

Myofusion is considered one of the tastiest proteins out there. I'll be getting some in a few days and writing up a review.
But Myofusion has Milk Protein Isolate... which is 80% casein, 20% whey. So it does indeed have casein. But I'd still suggest mixing it with milk pre-bed. I'd also suggest throwing in some more fat of some sort. Either PB or flax seeds/oil, etc.
Another very tasty option is XF Ultra Peptide 1.0 or 2.0

if youre looking for a good protein blend, you might wana try gnc's brand of whey protein complex. its on sale at ********: 5lbs for $30. thats 81 servings. i picked some up at my local gnc and its great. tastes good with milk or water, great buy.
edit: its at gnc's website, it wont let me put a link in my posts yetLast edited by jmac02; 08-16-2009 at 09:21 AM. Reason: failed link

ISS Micellar Matrix is another decent product to consider. It isn't talked about on the boards because ISS doesn't have any reps pimping it, but its a much better pre-bed blend than many others being discussed.
Micellar Matrix is 45% micellar casein and the other 55% comes from whey, casein and egg with added glutamine peptides!

i dont think myofusion would be a good prebed protein bc the first ingredient is whey concentrate and there is no knowing how much other stuff is in there. judging by the good feedback on the tastes id say it is mostly concentrate bc egg protein is nasty and very very very hard to flavor.
have you ever tried Milk Protein Isolate? it is 80% micellar cassein and 20% whey isolate). it has no carbs and no fat. great mix for bedGodhand502 = the man!

Ultra Peptide 1.0! 51:49, casein:whey ratio. Quality ingredients (Micellar casein and not sodium/calcium caseinate), casein as first ingredient (unlike majority of other blends), and tastes pretty darn good.
i take it for granted that no hearer of mine will misinterpret what I have to say as the language of cynicism

I'll throw out Isobolic as another option too. The blend is among the highest quality out there for sure (Whey Iso, Micellar Casein, Egg albumen, WPC) and there is added flaxseed powder, CLA and Bromelain.
It's very light tasting and doesn't leave your stomach feeling heavy or bloated at all. Perfect for pre-bed IMO.
