Gaining Mass diet
A good friend of mine who knows probly a lot more than me about lifting gave me some diet advice since i'm trying to gain as much mass as i can. He said every day, try to hav one type of poultry (chicken, turkey, etc), one type of steak or beef, and one type of fish.
Any thoughts? I think it sounds lik a good idea and a great way to get in enough protein as well as a good variety of protein sources.
Welcome to any ideas, changes, thoughts on this, it would help. Also idk if getting all that every day would be completely possible so lemme no how much i could get away with not having.

beef sounds good, but red meat everyday can't be good for you
i'd do a lot of cardio to be safe though...

This is BS. Look up the lifespan of people that life in Sardinia, Italy. They eat TONS of lamb.
Many people there live to see 105-109, it's very common.
They had an article in MensHealth about the red meat myth, please don't spread horrid lies.
Anyways, to the original poster, the reason why that is effective is due to varying amounts of amino acids in each. When it comes to the fish, this is especially true and moreso in regards to omega levels.

I eat beef 4-8 times a week. Grass fed though... same omega 3/6/9 levels as salmon.
10-20 cents more/lb is totally worth it (You don't need to buy fish oils).
This whole myth got started because people who eat beef happen to not eat as many veggies as people that don't.
Also, the cut of meat matters. I eat flank steak because it's the healthiest part of the cow, and it's the cheapest (Grass fed flank steak is cheaper than corn fed BS other cuts).

ever since last june i have eaten beef everyday and i am not suffering from anything... I think it is all about moderation and the type of beef you are consuming.. ex Lean vs Fatty... Limit the fatty beef because it is higher in saturated fat.... I consume lean and extra lean beef and it is working well..
I eat chicken (bbq) beef (pan-fried, crockpot, bbq), lean pork chops (bbq), bison (pan-fried), fish (seared), beans (high in protein and carbs), eggs, cottage cheese, lowfat swiss cheese, greek yogurt, natty pb

Stick with chicken. Red meat has too much saturated fat, and fish has too much lead/mercury.

The misconception on beef comes from the average person with a sh*tty diet already in place. So they pick on the saturated fats related to beef. Which is true.
But I'm sure every single person that visits this section can get away having steak every day, considering how sound their diet is.

cost of food is going to play a factor in that diet.
Regardless the type of meat you eat wont make a noticeable difference, I think that you are however right in focusing on getting most of your protein from a whole food source. But really focus on being consistent with your eating and your caloric intake and pick whole food sources and dont forget protein is important but when bulking dont hold back on the grains, rice for instance is great.

There is no advantage in eating land-based meat, poultry and fish each and every day.
Variety is important...but so is your budget. If you want to do this, it's okay. If you eat a helluvalot of chicken (like most of us), that's okay too!
