DOMS like a mofo
Lately I've been noticing that instead of being sore the next day after a hard workout I'm sore as f**k two days later.
So lets say I train back on monday, tuesday I'll have barely any soreness but wednesday my back will be tore up.
Anybody else get this really delayed soreness???

What do you think the "D" in DOMS stands for?

My theory, it could be wrong, is that larger muscle groups might have a longer delay..quads..back. My quads are definitely second day.

That is how I always am. Barely sore the following day. But days 2-3 I'm real sore. Day 4 it would be about the same as day 1.

Lol no. I just pasted it in the thread, laughed about it, and left it at that. He didn't respond in the thread either. It just cracked me the hell up.

Well its good to hear I'm not the only one... I've always suspected I have a below average recovery rate and I thought this was just part of it.
And now that you mention it Autonoma I guess I do tend to notice it with big bodyparts.
I wonder if you did active recovery (like light weight work) on the bodypart the next day after you worked it (when its not yet sore) maybe you could bypass the third day of soreness?

to let you know, I work out still even if sore. After the warm up, the sorness goes away. it doesn't inhibit my work out all. Like it resets the "soreness clock". Lol

for me, my chest is usually sore the next day, quads and glutes two days later, shoulders sometimes don't hurt till the third day out.... I've noticed this and I've only been lifting for 8 months or so.
It's normal for all the guys i know....

I like to be sore..unless it's really sore then you have to increase the frequency in which you do your exercise.

DOMS occurs within 24-72 hours.
I'm usually in the 12 hour range.

On top of the usual, enough rest and food, light recovery workouts work very well for me, especially for legs.
other good options:
contrast hot/cold showers
massage
ice
Also be sure to stretch sufficiently and make sure your getting enough potassium.

Every chance I get I recommend Sorenzyme from Labrada Nutrition. It is made specifically for DOMS. Very, Very under rated product IMO !!!
Here is a couple of links with more info:
http://www.labrada.com/moreinfo_sorenzyme.shtml
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/lab/sore.html
Also very good if you are injured & want to heal faster.
