I've Been Bad
Past few weeks have been not so good, nutrition-wise. I'm not trying to cut or prepare for a competition or anything - but I don't want to get fat either. Lately it seems I've had no appetite for my usual healthy foods - and I have no idea why. Whenever I think of eating a chicken salad or veggies and or anything healthy, I don't even feel hungry. Then, I think of a double cheeseburger or chicken wings and suddenly I'm famished.
I think I'm just bored with healthy eating and need a few good recipes or suggestions on trying something different. Any ideas?
BTW, might as well be honest here: I'm often on the road and do not prepare/cook my own meals, so if you have any suggestions on where to eat out that's fairly healthy, that would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance.

1. Every sort of food has its nutrients.
- its helpful to eye ball your food and eat in moderation.
2. I doubt your eating out more than twice a day, so someone where in between you able to get in your EFA and other macro.
3. There that book that came out at my library, very popular and has too many request holds... Better to buy one

You seem like you might need a mental break from thinking about nutrition. I strongly urge you to participate heavily in a new activity that has nothing to do with physicality and be intensely involved in it. Keep working out, but eat whatever and whenever the heck you want without thinking about it. That doesnt mean that you eat cake 24/7, but eat like a normal person. After a month youll want to get back on track and your body will rebound quickly. The body has a long life cycle one month of eating whatever you want within reason isnt going to kill you. it will free your mind.
oh and start eating barbecued shrimp and chicken and making stir frys. Always delicious.

There's plenty of healthy options at fast food joints, maybe not the greatest things in the world but definately stuff that WON'T hurt you, nutritionally.
Every fast food burger joint has a grilled chicken option now. Ask for no mayo to cut fat calories. Most fast food places you can now also substitute salads or baked potatos instead of fries.
Subway or the like are always a great choice, just watch portion size and toppings.
Try to find good restaurants in the places you'll be going. Chowhounds is a great place to start, plenty of people post there about their favorite restaurants and grocery stores, it's all broken up into regions too. Just post explaining that you want some healthy/fresh options in the area and they'll hook you up, probably won't even have to ask, you'll likely find places in the threads already being discussed.

Another suggestion for you. I know I struggle all of the time and for some reason seems when it suddenly gets hot out, my appetite lessens and I have trouble keeping to my usual 'healthy' faire. When this happens generally not so good fatty foods are much more appealing and overall palatable. Thats when super rich (yet healthy) spicy indian and thai dishes come in. Also a lot of these dishes have a good deal of veggies, for some reason vegetables are easier when I'm not hungry. Hope this helps you as it has me avoid the binge/bad food cravings.
Good luck and healthy eating.
