This thread will be devoted to teaching those that want to learn how to trade forex. It is my goal to help you become comfortable with trading.
The lessons learned in this thread will be lessons that you will be able to use for the rest of your life to build wealth month after month, and they can be applied to other types of investments such as stocks/etc.
If you want to participate, you are invited to open an account with oanda.com. Anyone can open a demo account there for free (Oanda FXGame), but you are also welcome to open an account with real funds (Oanda FXTrade.) If you use real funds, I would suggest opening the account with only a small amount, especially if this will be your first time trading. You can always add more/real funds later when you become comfortable and have shown that you can trade profitably with the demo or low-funded account.

*Metatrader 4 is also fine to use for the learning purposes of this thread. It can be found at metaquotes.net. I have suggested Oanda simply because that is what I use and will be using for any charts I post. I have no affiliation with them other than that I am a satisfied customer.
*I may not reply every day. We don't need to rush here, we want to have a slow but sure learning process. That is much like trading. It's not "get rich quick", it's "build a little at a time and build on what you already built!"
If someone knows how I can bold/highlight/change text color I would appreciate some help w/ that. I'd like to keep this first post easy to read. Can I just use standard HTML or??

AGAIN, PLEASE CONFIRM IN YOUR POST THAT YOU HAVE OPENED AN ACCOUNT AND STATE WHETHER IT IS DEMO OR LIVE (real funds.) THIS WAY I CAN KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ONBOARD AND WHO IS TRADING WITH REAL FUNDS (this could be important to know down the road.)

In, demo trading. I'm also using Metatrader instead of Oanda.
And just a heads up the demo version of FXTrade is called FXGame. FXTrade is for live accounts.

Regarding the amount to put into a live account if you choose to do that... it will depend entirely on you. It really doesn't matter if your account has $10 or $1000000, the trading will remain the same. If you do choose to fund your account with real money then I suggest using an amount that you won't think twice about. I like the idea of live trading for beginners because nothing can prepare you for trading with real money until you actually do it, but that doesn't mean you have to trade with any significant amount. Just open a demo account or put a few bucks that you don't care about into a live account, either way is fine.
OK we are now waiting for people to setup accounts and report back that they are on board.
