Is it even worth the effort at all to directly train biceps and triceps, for both size and strength? My logic here is our body wouldnt allow our arms to grow without our shoulders to grow equally. And, shoulders shouldnt grow unless chest grows... and so on and so forth. Also, doing a day fully devoted to arms seems odd, because the HGH response would be so low without compound exercises. I mean when I do bent over rows, I feel it very much in my arms, so it seems like overkill to then do curls.
I am just wondering what works for people.

Very few natural mesomorph bodytypes can get away with what you said but for ectomorphs especially..dont expect big arms or even decent arms without doing direct work to them..

You should do direct arm work if you would like to get your arms to their maximum potential.

They are only worth the effort of you want your arms to look good as opposed to mediocre.

There are a gew guys at my gym that have bulging arms compared to the rest of their bodies ie. no chest and back - from the side look very skinny. Yet you only see them mainly doing curls.

I don't know where to begin.
1. Train them if you want bigger and stronger arms; otherwise don't. No one else will care.
2. Your logic is completely incorrect. People frequently have bodyparts that are far more developed than other bodyparts. Have you ever looked at other gym-goers?
3. HGH response is meaningless and bro-science at its best. To quote Lyle McDonald: "Nobody has ever shown that the small hormonal spikes to training mean a thing and recent research is starting to show that it is simply meaningless."***Anyone With "Crew" in Their Signature Sucks Balls Crew***

Always work every part directly (even forearms). I use to do the whole "heavy compounds" touted by some members here, but it just doesn't cause hypertrophy as much as compounds PLUS isolations.
Simple. Cheers.akkxn - just lift heavy ****.

I don't want to sound cocky but I think your logic is completely backwards. You need your arms to work chest, back shoulders, etc. Having stronger arms will help to develop all your muscles. Vice Versa
What i'm saying is that week arms will hold you back in other exercises as will weak shoulders or chest etc. will hold you back on arms. You need to work everything out together IMO.

Yes if u dont want small arms lol 2/3's to 3/4's of the your upper arm is your tricep it depends on the person whether its 2/3's or 3/4s but also if u r feeling your arms when training your back your training wrong u got 2 put from your elbow and use your back not your upper arm like your bicep

Nah, no need to do iso arm stuff. Just come in 3 days a week and do 5x5 of deadlifts, bench, rows, military press and squats. That oughtta do it. The HGH response will be so big that you'll add 2 inches everywhere in a matter of, WAIT FOR IT, two workouts. True story.
