So, I am 26 and my hair has been thinning out over the last 3-4 months. I mean it has really thinned out compared to what it used to be. It isn't from any kind of steroids or prohomes before anyone jumps on that. Has anyone on here used any supplements or shampoos or prescriptions for hair loss? Anyone using propecia? Any help with thinning?
I know that it is possibly genetics and its not my thyroid. I'd like to slow down the process and keep my hair around for a few more years.
Thanks in advance.

Just one of them things. Just adapt your look

we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender

There was a recent thread on this. There are a few options. No permanent ones but I was in the same situation 2 years ago. Started on a finasteride 1mg/minoxidill/saw palmetto combination and within 4 months my hair is thicker than it has ever been. There are studies that indicate finasteride may have negative sides but i've had none so far.

Bro,
u can save yourself a lot of money by understanding there is nothing you can do. I was 21 when I started noticing. By 22 other people could notice. I spent a lot of money on "remdies". They don't do a thing. I finally said fugggit, gimme the bic.
I felt "free". seriously, there is nothing you can do. Join the club bro.The Truth on test boosters

that rogaine foam works for me not saying it will work for everyone but i can tell a difference
You are unlucky, so I may know that I am not. Unfortunately the lucky never realize they are lucky until it's too late. Take yourself for instance; yesterday you were better off than you are today but it took today for you to realize it. But today has arrived, and it's too late... You see?

I started losing hair when I was about 25. It is a shame that there still isn't a good way to prevent hairloss... the medical field really needs to step their game up. I shaved my head, but every now and then I'll let it grow back out (looks like shyt for the most part).

26 is not too young brah, not at all. Im 24, started noticing the reeceding in the temples around 21 or 22. Its usually a slow and steady process brah.
Its noticable now, I get some comments from my friends and family. people tend to think balding is funny and socially acceptable to make fun of.... just brush it off man, there really isnt anything you can do about it
...what will be, will be
accept it, cut yourself down short, or however you feel comfortable. and dont worry much about it.
FYI: I tried propecia for a few months, and started having really weird ejaculation problems (chunky and premature) and pain in my breast tissue.
even if you show no side effects, think about what your doing- propecia blocks the enzyme (alpha reductase-II) that converts free test to DHT, the most powerful androgen in the body.... use your logic brah, it cannot be healthy to do this in the long run just to save some hairs.
anyways, propecia is not a cure, it just slows down the inevitable
this. seriously, this OP
Not a bad idea, but ill put my money on MPB prone genetics. think how many guys have this issue

I would have agreed with that at one point, but medicine has advanced a fair bit in the last 5 years or so. There are some medically proven methods out there, i.e. Mynoxidil (Ro/Regaine) and Finastaride (Propecia). The only thing is that they have been proven to work about 85% of the time which means it wont be effective for everyone. There are also certain degrees of success - some maintain and even grow back their hair, others maintain, and others just slow the process.
Check out this forum - http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/. Best to look under the 'success stories' sub-forum. There are a lot of guys who give great and detailed advice.Last edited by FM1; 08-12-2009 at 07:28 AM.
