If you hate to squat
If you hate to squat, then don't squat; it's on you, not me. Just don't come in here and post a bunch of excuses why you don't want to. Nobody wants to hear them.

Haha, i'm assuming you meant this as a joke. Because if you hate to back squat then you will really hate to front squat. Simply the hardest exercise i've ever done. Feels amazing but is so friggin hard.

Hi guys,
this post kind of makes me feel bad, I recently had an injury during my squatting session where I was just in the 'seated' stage of the squat and like a twinge in my left lower back happened and I dropped the weight (amen for the squat safety rack)
however its been about 6 weeks now since the injury and I want to get back into squatting because I know how important it is for overral development...however I know this sounds like abit of a pussy but ive sort of 'lost' my confidence when i think about squatting heavy - well heavy for me (130-150kg) and feel like at any minute my back will go again - obviously this is effecting my workout
does anybody have any tips or advice they could give if they experienced something similiar? i've always thought and have been told my form was good doing squats and I always go below 90 and try and 'seat' on the squat if that makes any sense?
the only reason i could think my back may have gone is that i did squats last on legs day (cause the squat rack was in use) so maybe my legs were already drained and this put extra strain on my lower back? :S

despite what you were told, your form probably sucked. either that or you had/have a weak back, but i am sure there would have been signs of this before the injury occured.
just get back under the bar, use light weight, verify that your form is good and work your way back up. this is assuming you have fully recovered from your injury.

I actually use heavy squats to build my lumbar spine density back up from serious osteoporosis. It could definitely be a concern about form.

^ This. You don't have to do any exercise if you don't want to. I don't need to read a thread, about why you are justifying to yourself, why you aren't doing it. I don't know you in person, don't follow your training, and honestly could give two sh*ts why you aren't doing it.
Just think, if you never told us you didn't do it, we never would have known, and you wouldn't have to come up with excuses as to why you aren't doing them.

For me, the Deadlift is a more fullbody exercise than the squat is, actually.
It engages traps.shoulders, biceps and forearms, while essentially doing the same motion as the squat and therefore all the muscles the squat does as well.
Both require high intensity when you get to your 80-80% 1RM.

you gettin fat brah? lulz
deads are cool as are all major movements like cleans, RDL's, squats, front squats, trap deads and the like. they all have one thing in common and it ain't teh hormonal release it's more like the ass kicking they put on you.
