Eric Mangini is going to win his 2nd Coach of the Year award
Why the Jets let this guy get away from them is beyond me. I have been thoroughly impressed if not blown away by the way Mangini has changed the culture of my team, the Browns.
From day one he's brought a disciplined, thorough approach to coaching the team and I love the way he's built the roster. There's more depth on this roster than I can ever remember, and it's amazing considering how thin we were in depth last year. In training camp they have practiced every imaginable situation and have practiced with live tackling (something we never did under Romeo Crennel). The difference in the approach of this team is night and day. They're going to be so much mentally tougher than they were due to the disciplined mindset Mangini has brought.
This team is much better off than it was last season, and I believe it will pay off in big dividends considering there is some talent on the roster.

no, no he wont. I love your enthusiasm man, but with no recievers outside of Edwards(if he catches this year) and the usual problems the Browns have. If we win 8-10 games this year I will be Thoroughly Impressed. Won't happen though.
If he gives Quinn the SEASON to mature and grow up as basically a rookie still, then maybe the Browns have a bright future still. I didnt like Mangini in NY and dont like him now.
<---Die hard Browns fan for life btw.

We may be more diciplined, but we really have nothing. Our defense is going to be terrible and who knows what the offense will do. Jamal Lewis? Maybe James Davis does something this year, but what else do we have to work with?

In recognition of the success Mangini had in his first season as head coach of the Jets, he was named 2006 AFC Coach of the Year at the NFL 101 Awards.

Mangini was very unimpressive last season. He had a very good running game and would abandon it for no reason. Favre was playing like **** after he hurt his shoulder and Mangini didn't have the courage to take him out.

exactly. Hopefully I and many Browns fans are wrong, but I cringed when they announced Mangini as head coach. I was disappoint and even made a thread about it I think, lol.

DA > Brady Quinn. Why everyone is so eager to get Quinn in the mix is beyond me, DA had that amazing season 2 years ago.

Prevent defense?
I was at the scrimmage yesterday and the defense I saw was anything but.
Rob Ryan's our coordinator and our scheme closely resembles his brother's scheme.
I love the guys he's brought in and the way he's conducted training camp, focusing on every possible scenario they could face in a game.

DA is a really mediocre QB. He had one pretty good year and has sucked unbelievably bad since then. They've let Quinn start like 3 games so far and when he has played, he looked pretty decent for having no NFL experience and a poor offense. He hasnt even gotten a real chance yet, for a 1st round draft pick that is rediculous.

Mangini doesn't call the defensive plays. Rob Ryan has stated he's gonna bring it and be aggressive.
Besides, the Jets were near the top in the NFL in sacks last year.
@generel Tomlin has the easiest coaching job in the North, if not the entire NFL. The defense runs that team and Dick LeBeau runs that defense.
Look at hiring Bruce Arians and the "success" of the offense for all you need to know about his decision making when it comes to hiring people not named LeBeau.
