Jayo's "Starting Strength" journal

Hoping to add a lot of size and strength gains with this program. Workout days will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday. I'm making the journal to basically help myself stay consistant with the program and also to help/get help from anyone else using it. Also I will try and post my daily meals as this is harder for me to stay consistant with then training.

I added a slight variation to the program (contrary to popular belief) with some weighted dips and chin ups.

Workout A:
SQUATS 3 x 5
BENCH 3 x 5
DEADLIFT 2 x 5 (adding 1 set)
WEIGHTED DIPS 2 X 8

Workout B:
SQUATS 3 x 5
STANDING MILITARY PRESS 3 x 5
POWERCLEANS 5 X 3
CHIN-UPS 3 X 8

My starting weights will be; (lbs)

Squats-155
Bench-135
Deadlift-185
Military Press-95
Power Cleans-115
Weighted Dips-90 lbs added
ChinUps-Bodyweight

*these weights are an estimate and I will adjust after seeing how I do in workout A and B and adjust accordingly.

Going to eat very clean and aim for 3000 cals a day

The only change I see you made was making a set 3x8 instead of 2x8. Dips and Chins are actually part of the program... a lot of people just choose to leave them out (beginner version).
As far as meals go, versus working out... I find it much harder to stay on diet than to workout just 3x a week. However, I feel that after I get used to doing the 3x a week, diet will slowly start to become the big issue and I'll focus on that more.

GL with the SS I'll be watching!
