Cialis for low libido?? (serious)

I went to the doc to discuss my libido issues after being convinced by a few here on BB.com's forum boards. The doc basically seemed disinterested and I had to almost twist his arm off just to get a testosterone blood test, which I get the results for in a few days. In the mean while, he prescribes me Cialis (20mg) which I heard is the strongest dose of that drug, and packs more punch than Viagra. What gives? I'm not up to hardening up if I'm not keen on making use of it. I'm more interested in fixing the underlying problem which I think is a low test level. I'll find that one out in a few days.

Anyone have experience with Cialis? I'm really not sure whether I should try it, but damn it was expensive. Unfortunately I found all this out after purchasing it and reading the scary literature that came with it.

cialis works for a longer time period than viagra. actually viagra packs more punch just for a shorter time frame.

it wont do anything for your libido per say, but it will make getting and keeping an erection a lot easier. if you got wood for more than 4 hours, go to the emergency room pronto.

cialis is awesome, it lasts approx 36 hrs. viagra is cool but makes me see a blue tint.

you may want to go see an endocrinologist if your test levels come back low. they would be more knowledgeable on the subject and treatment if necessary.

I have taken Cialis just as many other men on this board have with no ill effects other than it doesn't produce as hard erections as the shorter acting PDE5's like Viagra and Levitra. Thing is that it won't do **** for your libido. It's not that kind of drug. A similar incident happened to me at a urologist office one time. PDE5's are only there to make sure you can get an erection. They have nothing at all to do with desire. They may boost your confidence but if you don't want sex they won't help you. Find another doc. How many times do a find myself saying that? hmmmmmmmm..

Most men with low T and or high Estradiol you will lose your libido getting T up into to the upper 1/3 of your labs range and keeping your Estradiol down to about 20 pg/ml this is a good recipe for upping ones libido. I was on cialis 20 mgs every 3 days this did help with my wood it made me harder wife liked that yet I am 65. I am now on Cialis the new pill 5mgs everyday but not for ED for my heart.

You guys really think cialis is better than viagra? My doc prescribed it to me aswell(20mg), but told me to cut the pills in half and take 10mg per dose.

I like Cialis better because there are less side effects like a stuffy nose and a mild headache, and it lasts a long time. The side effects go away after a while though. Different men need different dosage. I agree that both drugs do nothing for libido.

Thanks everyone, for your remarks. I think I'll bin the Cialis. I'm keen on treating the low libido, as I'm sure it's the cause to this recent problem with erection.

This Viagra 100mg is at least twice as good as cialis 20mg. I take cialis cause I dont want to try to time things, but think i might switch to Viagra soon.

The doc I saw seemed uninterested, even exploring the possibility that it might be a low test problem. In a few days I will get the blood test results. Regardless, these random lows I've been getting need addressing and I'm thinking an endo might be the next visit. I might be joining the HRT club myself.

Wow! Reading these posts really makes me reflect on all my lows over the last 5 years and the fact that my new Endos PA told me on the phone that low T and other hormonal problems in men that affect sexuality and erections are epidemic! I'm glad when even one out of all of us get the proper treatment and may we all get proper treatment. Keep up the good fight guys. There is never any reason for a man to feel 80 at any age unless he's 80 and even then he should still feel like a man!

I am on 1/3 of a 20 mg pill of Cialis everyday for my heart Dr.'s have me on BP med and a beta-blocker along with a CHOL pill this is killing my wood I get night time and morning wood but can't get it up good for sex. All this happened after going on the above meds after heart bypass sugary. I seen my Dr. today told him I can't get it up he said over and above the 1/3 pill of Cialis take a half a pill of Viagra. I was not sure about doing this but he said it's ok to try it. I come home to my wife I am taking a half a Viagra lets see if it works.

In an hour It was up and hard as a rock we had a dam good time. So mixing it works.

Wow that's great news Phil!! Those dam beta blockers will kill your wood at the right dosage. Glad to hear everything worked for you!

i actually used both. cialis everytime i took it gave me a headache. when i took the viagra it was like having a plasma cutter. lol

Yeah, Cialis is good because of the long action and you can be carefree without having to be hasty to have sex, but if you want to cut down trees with your member then Viagra or Levitra are the way to go. When I took Levitra I had stronger erections than I ever had at any time at all in my life. They were so hard they were almost painful but I did experience the sides of stuffy nose and mild headache which doesn't happen to me on Cialis.

Well they do have now Cialis for daily use. Not sure the cost though. Or you could take a Cialis every other day. Talk to Phil (pmgamer18). He has done both and currently I believe takes the every day Cialis for his heart problem. Post or PM him. I'm sure he wouldn't care.

thanks for your help man. So I've come to conclusion that if you're looking for something to make you as hard as possible, viagra and levitra is the best options. if you're looking for something to get you an erection when needed and to last longer, cialis is the answer.

Well it wasn't. Test levels 11nmol/L (normal 8.3 - 29), free test 41.2pmol/L (normal 25.0 - 120.0). 11nmol/L is a drop since last reading years ago. Doc subtly told me it's depression. I'm not sure if depression can impact test levels and would they rise again if I could shake this off. Just as well he didn't prescribe anti-depressants cos all he'd hear is me saying no thanks. He said I should take the Cialis. Is this the way to deal with depression? fap my way to happiness? X-o

I take L-arginine evey night at bedtime it's great for your penis and body. If you have sides from Viagra then get Cialis 20 mgs you can cut it into 3 parts and take it everyday cut it just behind the 2 side ways then cut the biggest part in half take it everyday sides are going in less then a week and are very low. Or take the 20 mg pill every 3 days I did this for yrs. From day one that it came out works great you don't need to wait for a pill to work. Taking Viagra made me so dam sick from sides I did not feel like having sex. Today I think this was because of my blockage to my heart now that this is fixed I don't feel sick taking it. So today I take 1/3 of a Cialis pill everyday for my heart and when I want sex I need to take Viagra because of the meds they have me on for my heart.

I don't know which comes first, low test or depression, but they definitely influence each other. Having sex obviously alters your hormones a lot for the better, so yeah, maybe so...

i had a similar experience. i went to see a urologist a few years ago because i had no sex drive and was having ED. he took blood and prescribed viagra.

his office called a week later and said my T level was fine...this was before i started getting copies of the results.

he said the libido and ED was do to a lack of confidence in bed. i just about hit the floor laughing. i said "lack of confidence? na, you have the wrong guy doc". i was the guy that girls would say "god, is sex all you ever think about!!!".

as it turned out my TT was 366 and according to them i was "fine".

ED pills don't do jack unless the desire is there. even if you get wood while on those pills it still doesn't feel all that great to have sex. when my hormones are off i lose sensitivity and nothing feels all that great, even getting good head.

Also, which is better? taking 20mg every 3 days or taking 5mg everyday? Also you cant have sex just on the 1/3 of 20mg cialis pill daily? you have to take viagra too?

Unfortunately the docs think getting hard will 'fix' depression. They seemed more interested in treating symptoms instead of identifying the cause. My test level is drifting toward the low end of the scale but doctors think this is ok. I've recently started considering a low dose AAS cycle just to feel normal. I don't believe depression is the core of this problem.

I find it sad that you can't discuss things with your doctor. I felt as though he was holding a stop watch and giving me x-seconds to blurt out what I had to say before he'd brush me off. So much for the government's "discuss your problems with a doctor" campaign. What a joke.
