What day do you do deadlifts? Back or Leg?

What do you think its the best day for deadlifts? Some websites classify it as a quadriceps exercise, some as a erector spinae exercise. From what I know its an all round body exercise. So I am a little confused on what day I should be doing it.

    This is my legs day:
    Barbbell Squats
    Dumbbell Lunges
Barbell Stiff Leg Deadlifts (for hamstrings)
    Dumbbell Single Leg Calft Raises

    This is my Back Day:
    Barbell Pullovers
    Barbell Shrugs
    Pullups
    Single Arm Dumbbell Rows

Should I just replace the Stiff Leg Deadlifts with Normal Deadlifts? Or should I move them on my Back Day?

ive seen this argument a lot of times and it seems almost 50/50 split legs and back. generally people training for strength have it more often on legs day and bodybuilders almost always perform them on back day. the argument for legs day is that the muscles of the leg go through a larger ROM in a deadlift, but i feel my back muscles working much harder and i like it on back day. biomechanics play a big part in how every1 deadlifts tho. and also i think nothing really replaces the feel of deadlifts for back, but there are good ways to replace them for leg workouts.

You combine the two biggest muscle groups of your body into one workout? Not sure how smart that is.

how long does that workout of yours last?

to answer OP, i do them on leg day
i just dont have the time to squeeze them in my backi/tris day, so on leg day i do squats, deads, lunges, extensions

Back day. If you have enough energy to do squats and deads on the same day you are superhuman.

This. A few sets of squats is generally enough for me to have to sit down for about five minutes recovering my breath and composure. I do some body weight squats afterwards to cool down a bit, and then move on to lunges. I might do some calf work too, and I finally finish off with the leg press machine.

At eighteen years old, I can fairly certainly say that squats and deadlifts done on the same day with the intensity that they deserve would put me into cardiac arrest.

well i guess i am superhuman then . . . it probably depends on how u do your squats, i never never go to failure so deads after squats are not a problem for me

    to each his own....
im in the gym about 1.5 hrs. i work out with my wife and my workout partner. we usually do 4 or 5 sets of squats...on the smith machine..(this may be where the diff is??? idk) last set we usually barely squeeze out 5 reps. then we move on to leg press, same thing here...barely squeezing out 4 or 5 reps on 4th set. then leg extensions...then sitting down hamstring machine. then it usually varies but most of the time cable rows 4 sets and pulldowns 4 sets. T bar row machine??? for 3 sets. then calves. and lastly but deff not least......deadlifts. 10 8 then 6 and barely getting 6 on last set. guy i work out with is 39yrs old. i'm 24 wife is 28.

Lifting? Seven months, five days a week.. My sessions usually last 90 minutes.

I'm exaggerating about the cardiac arrest, but I feel like the intensity in either deadlifts or squats has to suffer if both are done on the same day.

I prefer them on back day if it's between legs and back, but more often than not, I'll put them on their own ham/lower back day, with quads and squats on their own day. This way each move gets done first when I'm fresh.
    Keep on hulkin'.

I won't quit till no shirt will fit.

From what I can see the consensus is leaning more towards back day.
I ll move the shrugs from back day to shoulder day so that I can leave some space on the backday to do deadlifts.

I do racked deadlifts on back day where i get in the cage and set the rack right at knee level and do heavy ass deadlifts to focus mainly on lower back... i do romanian deadlifts on a platform (to get more of a stretch) on leg day. Everyone is different but this may help

I do them on back day. I tried doing squats & deads on the same day and it really didn't work for me.
