For those who party(drink)..
Okay so for those who choose to drink (i drink socially) on weekends, like friday and saturday night..
I know drinking alcohol dehydrates you and your muscles, and hindering muscle growth and health as well.
But right now i'm on a mon/wed/fri workout day schedule, because my gym in my current city is only open on weekdays.
But i'm about to go back to my University and they have a 7 day week schedule gym... so i'm changing it to Sunday/Tues/Thurs schedule. That way the only time alcohol REALLY gets in the way is Saturday night. So you could go light on saturday night so that it doesnt take ALL day to rehydrate on Sunday. Just drink lots of water before you go to sleep too.
cheers

Well, how much do you drink? I have a rule where I don't go over 3 beers or 3 shots whenever I drink and I work out perfectly fine the next day. I know that doesn't sound like much but it depends on your tolerance.

Hard liquor is alot stronger than beer. Like I said before, depends on your tolerance. I've always prefered hard liquor because it gets the job done faster. I don't drink beer because I like the taste and only drink it if its the only thing available.

Wrong.
Beer hydrates you more than water does

What the hell, ok I mean alcohol dehydrates your body. Thus your muscles.
And I change like sometimes I only drink about 3 or 4 drinks (my tolerance is kind of high) so I slam 3 or 4 shots and i'm good (40%?)...
But then again I sometimes get too crazy at big parties of when hanging out with beauties (we all drink and play games), I have reached about 18 drinks in a 6 hour period... usually its 8-12 when I do this though. I wake up hungover.

just drink beer... and workout the next day if you feel fine (which you should be able to be ready to go)
drinking occasionally wont really have any effect on your goals as long as its moderate.

i got really drunk the other weekend, on a satuarday and i train mon/wed/fri i took all my sups and stuff as usual that night then on sunday, and stayed hydrated (currently doing the volvic challenge where you drink 1.5l of water a day but sometimes i drink 3l) however on monday at the gym i couldnt lift as much and didnt feel as stong.
was very dissapointed in myself and though ALL my friends drink, i have decided to stop drinking.

This summer i've been drinking 4-5 times a week if not every day and i've been making gains. I think drinking effecting your working out is largely overestimated.

Drinking once a week; not bad, wont do much harm to your gains, unless the next day you wake up hungover and cant work out. Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated.
Drinking heavily EVERYDAY; then it could get bad.

I party pretty much every night actually. Just stick to your diet in the day, when you get home (this is for me, most don't go home haha) slam a protein shake and a mutli vitamin, its pretty diffucult to do, also try and drink 3L of water before bed. Your usually so dehyrdated you wont piss it out. Ill usually wake up the morning, with very little hangover, and hit the gym. In the past 1 1/2 years i went from 155-187 and cut down to 172. I currently drink about 3 times a week, and its not light drinking by any means.

My rule is I only drink if it's actually good alcohol, I'm with people I like, and I'm actually having fun.
I'm not into cheap ass beer that tastes like piss or just drinking to say I do it.

This.
I respect those who don't drink, it's a tough decision and even tougher when you know how fun it is. But when you don't drink, DON'T run around judging everyone who does. Seriously? Shut the **** up and get over yourself.

I'm not running around judging people. Just saying quit bad habits. It is ok to drink in moderation I guess, but drinking too much would not do you good of course. And telling me to shut the **** up? That is just taking it too far.
