Well eating right IS more important tbh.

But yea, the general public is a bunch of morons who thinks weight=fat and doesn't understand the diff between fat and muscle... so yea, weight training may not make you lose weight, but so what?

When it comes strictly to weight loss exercise is not necessary and eating habits are more important. You could theoretically eat a perfect diet x amount of calories below your maintenance and lose weight without taking extra time to exercise.

This doesn't mean that that strategy is efficient or smart, or will even lead to a good looking body. It just means weight loss.
