When McDonalds opened what they considered a full meal, for an adult, is now sold, with a toy that does not pose a choking hazard to children under three!!!

^^ That being said...

Holding water means water retention... An unusually high accumulation of water in the body tissues. Its commonly caused by high sodium in the diet. And some people believe creatine mono is also a usual suspect. By addressing whatever is causing the water retention, you will drop a few lbs and get a slightly more shredded look.

Benefits? sure. The water is there to flush out impurities, such as excess sodium, from the body. Water retention is also the body's natural defense against dehydration, especially if youre not getting enough water to begin with. In the case of creatine, super-hydrated cells purportedly causes increased protein synthesis and wards off catabalism (muscle digesting itself).

But really, my opinion is that water retention by itself, not caused by supplements, is likely indicative of a problem. You might not be drinking enough and your body is holding onto as much water as possible. Or it could be a vitamin deficiency.

Aside from the side effect of creatine, I wouldn't willingly put your body into a state of water retention.
