WTF happened to one of the best franchises in all of sports... I hear Crabtree is holding out and is threatening to sit the entire season because he wants to get payed more than Heyward Bey..

Eddie DeBartolo lost the team to his sister who gave control to her husband, John York...that's what happened.
And I hate it.

I used to love watching the 49ers play in the 90's, that season when Garrison Hearst had that nasty injury in the Conference Finals was really their last hurrah for me, after that season I never really followed the niners or the NFL at all.

Yeah it's nice to have 2 good RB's. Most of the teams nowadays are running two RB's. It keeps them fresh and the defense off balance.

I didn't get to see the game. I was stuck watching the Jets/Giants/Eagles this weekend. I live on the East Coast so I don't get to see many games.
However it's nice to see them get a win against the former SB team. This could be a great season.

Ah didn't see this thread, was about to make one but I wasn't sure if I was the only fan the 49ers still had now days. I doubt we'll ever relive the 80s/90s but maybe we can get something going this year!

John Clayton was just on Mike and Mike and said that Crabtree's camp is caving in after Sunday's big win @ Arizona. He said this gave the 49ers all kinds of leverage and that's why they are beginning a strict plan to reduce his offer. Clayton said that at the end of the day Crabtree realizes that he's still getting $20 million and that all signs point to him signing within the next 2-3 weeks. He strongly believes from what he has heard that Crabtree will be a 49er this season.
....
Even if he signs the season may be lost with him. He has missed so much important time during training camp.

I finally found my home in this forum!!!
Really excited bout the 49er win this past weekend. I don't want to get my hopes up but we should go at least 9-7 this year which is a major improvement.
If we had any sort of running game, the cards game wouldn't even have been close. I hope Sing tears a new one in the oline this week. They sucked balls on Sunday.

That first round pick the 49ers are getting from the Panthers is looking better and better. let's hope they go 0-16.

First of all I highly doubt Panthers go 0-16 or get the first overall pick. That team still has some very good talent on it and Delhomme can't suck that bad all the time. Philly is a damn good team.
Having said that I'd have reservations if they did get the #1 overall pick. I do love Sam Bradford but damn he'd cost a crapload of money.
Ideally I'd like to see us get 5-8 from them. There is some awesome talent in this draft and I think we can really help our team if we draft smart.
Ideally we finally sign Crabtree(and he turns into a good receiver) sign Logan Mankins this offseason(guy we wanted over Baas that year)
Draft we can go in a lot of different ways. I wouldn't say no to Snead. If Bradford somehow is there at our pick he has to be the guy. That kid will be special.
Greg Hardy and Joe Haden I'd also love to see on the niners.

I really hope Crabtree signs...I know a lot of niner fans are acting like they don't carea bout the guy and hope he doesn't sign but i think that's BS. He may end up being a bust but honestly I'd rather see what he can do and risk that then never finding out and wasting a 10th overall pick.
I really don't think that Crabtree is that bad of a kid, I think his people are really f*cking with his head. The guy runs great routes and should be a decent receiver. I'd feel a lot better with him and Morgan starting for us.

lol I was joking about the 0-16 on the Panthers part. However hypothetically speaking if they did go 0-16 I would welcome the first pick. We do need a franchise QB and this would be a good year to pick one. I have no problem paying the money is it's the right QB.
However if we don't draft a QB it will be nice to trade down in the draft and get extra picks. So having the #1 pick isn't a bad thing. It gives us a lot of options. With that being said I highly doubt we get it. I expect a 10-15 pick from the Panthers. Yeah they have a running game but their QB is just flat out horrible.
Anyway you slice it we will be sitting pretty with 2 first round picks next year.

The Seahawk fans probably had a coronary when he ran it all the way and it nullified.
