How can I network with other proffesionals?
I want to expand my marketing to networking with other professionals but I have no idea how to approach this.
How would I approach other businesses? What does a press kit consist of?
Any pointers? I've read offering the DR a free session in the press kit is a good route to go.

myspace, twitter and facebook got hacked today
I go to myspace, go to groups and you can find other fields, and network
They have those networking groups i see ran on craigslist a lot, where they meet up once a week or so, and try to refer each other business. Help each other grow
The more years as a trainer you have under your belt, the easier it will be to network with any other health related field. I work with a couple docs, and when i first started as a trainer 8 years ago, they wouldn't bite because i lacked experience. 5 years later, they feed me business, and i do the same
On the lookout for some good steroids/ph's

Well pretty much you would be looking at networking with doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and any other health professionals that they might come into contact with. Even other trainers outside of your radius of business because those within would not send you business. However, other trainers that would not be a direct threat to you would be great to network with in terms of training ideas as well as someone within your direct field to speak highly of you.
As far as the former health professionals, you could offer them a free session to check out what it is that you do and you should make the impression that you know what you are doing. Additionally, you could go visit a massage therapist and if they are good at what they do you could ask for their business cards so you can refer people to them, while conveniently having yours available if they would like some for clients.
Just basically you need to find a way to make contact with these individuals and make a strong impression upon them, while keeping connections open for future contact.

I haven't got clients off it, I just use to it social network with other professionals.
What I did was join groups based on a Keyword, for Example "NASM, Wellness, Fitness, etc..."
What that did was bring up groups based on my search. I joined the group just like you would for a Yahoo Group. What happens now is that I get series of emails with Blogs from those groups on a lot on informative information.
Another thing is that you can job search , and it would match who you knew in that company to get a one on one with them to discuss employment opportunities.
I am still trying to get the hang of it.

A press kit is going to have a couple of main things, but you have to consider your audience first and foremost.
- Letter introducing you/ your company
- Fact sheet about you/your company. History, mission statement, etc.
- Something that lists pricing and services
- News story (if you've ever contributed to or been quoted in any journals, mags, etc)
- Testimonials from clients with photos if appropriate
- List of any awards you have received
PM me if you have any questions about these. I have a masters in PR and I'm about to start working on getting certified through NASM. Maybe we can help each other.
