If you can curl 135lbs + with good form for reps I'd say you can curl in the squat rack.
Other wise just curl where there's space. You don't need a safety rack for curling...

on the scott curl bench, in the free weight area by the dumbells. Nothing more irritating when your ready to do some squats and some guy is curling in the squat rack! It is not meant to hold the bar between your sets of curls, the floor does that nicely.

I curl with the Ez curl bar. I only do my deads and squats within or around the squat rack, beacuse we dont have any free oly bars.

It's called a "squat rack" for a reason. Do curls in other available free space.

When someone curls in the squat rack, i take the EZ curl bar for my squats infront of the preacher curl bench.

Because it is annoying when you are trying to do legs with the SQUAT RACK and someone is hogging it for a much less important bodypart like biceps. It doesn't take that much room to do curls, but that rack is necessary to perform heavy squats. You can simply lay the bar down on the floor when done with curls, but wtf are you going to do with the hundreds of pounds of weight on your shoulders when you are done with that? or how are you even going to get it on you?
I wouldn't even recommend doing barbell curls because they damage your wrists. For biceps, people need to do more preacher curls for the lower part of bicep because I normally don't see people with good all around biceps. Do more dumbbell work such as concentration curls, hammer curls, or normal DB curls. If you must do standing curls, I suggest EZ curl because it puts less strain on the wrist.

Lil off topic but if you are doing ANY exercise PROPERLY, there should be no joint or bone damage. Thats like saying deadlifts damage your spine. Truth is if you have sh*tty form then yes they potentially could.

Who the **** cares. You feel like curlin' in the squat rack? Do it. If someone comes along and actually wants to squat, then you give it up. Simple. Personally I don't curl in the squat rack, but a lot of people at my gym do.

Your body was not made to lift a straight barbell. There are lots of exercises when done 'properly' can damage or irritate various tissues. Behind the neck presses and Straight BB curls are 2 that spring to mind.

Uhhhh, not true man. You are saying as long as you have proper form, you will never have any injuries? I wish. Professional athletes who have mastered form still suffer injuries and have to have surgeries. In terms of bodybuilding, off the top of me head I can think of Victor Martinez who had to get surgery on his knee because he messed it up doing warm up lunges. That guy has been doing lunges for years and I'm sure he has gotten the form down.
The human body is not flawless. Weights do damage the joints which is why many people stay away from barbell bench because it does so much damage to the shoulders over time. And these are veterans I am talking about, not amateurs.
But back to topic, look up articles on barbell curl online. I'm sure the professionals will recommend alternatives to it.
