College transfer - how hard is this gonna be?
I didn't do well at my first university, and now that i'm a little older and have moved I want to transfer, change my major and start from a clean slate.
Do you HAVE to transfer your credits, and if anyone has advice for a degree in Radiologic Tech, please lemme know

credits for classes will transfer regardless.. some might not transfer. just take what you need for your degree, if you got a c or whatever retake the class for a better grade or for a refresher. i am transferring too. should be fun lol

yeah, i'm stressed...so if i got a D (failing grade) in math, I can retake that math class and that D will go away. the new grade is all that will matter?

I dont think you need a degree for radiology tech. I think there is a 2 year program for that. Check out your local CC they usually have these programs. Or look into some vocational schools.

Usually when you retake the class, the higher grade is recorded, but since you are transferring, the rules may be different. You have to check with your advisor at your new school.

you have to have 3 sems of pre req., 7 sems of clinicals = bachelors degree
also, to get into clinicals it's very competitive. which is mainly why i'm wanting to start fresh

If you go to a different university don't send them the transcripts from the uni you did bad in. Simple as that.
My brother did that after failing his first year. He changed uni's and gave his high school transcripts. Got into the business school and then graduated with a 3.8 gpa. He now makes an insane amount of money.

Kinda weird. Our program here is only 24 months and you get an associates and can work as a radiology tech after.

it all depends on university policy where you want to transfer to. you might want to contact a counselor there or look at their transfer policies online.

Except this is bull**** and the new school will find out your previous school, regardless of whether you send in the transcripts.

Credits might transfer depending on classes, but gpa probably won't.

GPA still transfers. They calculate every single class you have taken at the CC with your university grade.

Not all schools transfer the gpa or the grades. Some only take up to a certain grade ( ex: nothing below c), and then make you take low grade req classes over.
Again it depends on the school.

it was a university, not CC...i'm sure that doesn't make a difference. what if I transfer to a community college to take a few pre requs to bring up my GPA and then apply to the radiology school? would that work?

Ne warry of the radiation tech.. the field is super flooded right now..
Transfer your classes, anything below a C wont transfer and they dont use your old gpa.. you basically start on a clean slate, but you will always have to live with your old schools GPA.

Ahh I see what you are getting at. Yeah in some classes anything below a C is unacceptable.

I personally think that would be the best option plus you save more money.

From what I remember, if you take a D class over (in the same school), then both grades get averaged. Only time it's removed is if it's a F or a WU.

Nowhere will require you to transfer credits if you don't want them transferred.

You don't have to transfer anything if you don't want to. Your GPA will start all over again.
