Father might have cancer.... WTF
I'm so scared, I just dropped my parents off at the drs, th wanted to see him right away. My father was complaining about stomach pains for the last week. He has an ultra sound done and they found gollstones. So they wanted him to come on to day and get a CAT scan. Mother calls me up at work crying and tells me that he might have cancer. I just dropped them off at the drs and I'm sitting in the parking lot and I can't stop shaking and I'm so afraid to go in. Idk what to do.

im sorry dude, just take a deep breath, you dont even know for sure what it is. Id say dont worry unless you have a concrete reason. The doctors now adays throw out the C word alot to just help guard against charges that they never told me that might be cancer, etc. Go in and see what the doctor says although they would prolly want to run more tests before saying for sure.

Ive got personal experience with this kind of **** and the raw emotion never dies. From a young age. I just dont have any empathy with anyone else anymore. Death is a part of life and sooner people take a different view on it the better. Cancer kills people it shouldnt, people it should. Today there is a good chance of survival with certain types, but lets make no bones about it if certain types get you youre fuked. What irritates me is this bull**** about 'i beat cancer' 'if anyone can beat cancer they can' ..
As far as you and your dad are concerned i cant give you any advice, everyone deals with things in their own way.

My father was also diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He is ex-military and has had blood work done monthly (for years) so they caught it very early.
I cried when I found out, aint gonna lie.. I love my dad so much. The thought of losing him is unbearable.
His operation went smoothly, thank God. Since then he has made a full recovery.
Just sayin, I know how it feels dude.
I will pray for you!

Even if he does man--I pray he doesn't. Tons of people survive from cancer. Worse comes to worst he'll just do a round of chemo and he'll be back to normal.

When I got the call about my mom having cancer I was in shock. When I hung up I just broke down and cried for a good 5 minutes straight. It's rough getting news like that. The best you can do is stay strong for your dad.

Thanks to all of u guys, so we just got home. Basicly the dr said it doesn't look good and that's he's not sure it is cancer just from the cat scan but he's seen enough to know that he's pretty sure it is. And he sayin it's been spreading and looks like it might of started from the lungs. Now he's got an appointment to see a cancer specialist next week. My father is 62 this year and probably has been smoking over 20 years. I kept ****in tellin him and my mother to stop smoking but they never listened. Idk I still can't believe all thiS is happening.

Sorry to hear that.... I went through the same thing
about 10 years ago. It started the same way, stomach
pains, then we found out it was pancreatic and it was everywhere.
He was 50 and only made it another 5 months. It rocked me hard
and still does to this day.
Keep your chin up man and be strong for them, it's f'kd up
if it turns out he's got it and I feel for you.

Stay strong man. You being strong will reflect onto your dad.
I had a similar scare: my dad had been waking up in the a.m. Feeling dizzy and nauseated. I googled the symptoms and most of them said it could be related to a brain tumor...and it didn't help that my grandma (his mom) HAD a brain tumor and passed away from it. Turns out it was just a very severe sinus infection. Alas, stay strong. Never lose hope.

Well bro you're gonna have to be strong, nothing else you can do. My father also has cancer, melanoma, and I went to countless doctor's appointments with him and he has had about 2 surgeries. We thought that it was gone but now he has something also developing in his eye. On the 17th of this month I am once again taking him for surgery to cut out some sort of growth in his lungs. He has smoked and drank all of his life so it ain't a surprise but it's still tough. Stay strong brother

to give you guys an update, Its been a while but I really couldnt come back to this thread for a few cause it would really depress me.
My father passed away 10 days after being admitted to the hospital. The day after he was diagnosed, he went in to the ER because he was having alot of trouble breathing and had REALLY bad stomach pains. So after being with him in the ER from 330 till about 2 in the am i had to leave cause i was exhausted.
They admitted him that night, got a room, started doing CAT scans and a lot of tests. basicly they found that he had cancer on/in his liver and on his addreanal glands. So we figure ehh no biggie my dads a tough guy. So days go on they do more and more test. And every time I go to visit he looks great just has a harder and harder time breathing. So basicly they found out that it was a squamous cell carcinoma cancer, form or skin cancer that can spread to his organs. But they couldn't find out where it was coming from, yay go figure 10 freaking days and they just find this **** out . on like the 8th day, we find out that hes got phemoniona (sp). F'ing GREAT!! 1 more ****ing thing!!, On the 10th day we go up there to see him and hes got a rebreather mask on and can hardly get 3-4 words outta his mouth with out gasping for air. Doctor comes in tells us his respiratory status is critical and that we need to make a decision on whether if he needs to have a air tube if they are allowed to do it. So we say yes and my dad agrees. later that night he requests to get a breathing tube because hes having so much trouble getting air. they move him to ICU and put the breathing tube in. Then all the problems started his blood pressure dropped really low, so they were giving him stuff to raise it. then again it was dropping dangerously low again they give him stuff to bring it back up. Then they say he was getting acitocious in his blood and he PH level in his blood was off, and that went on from 3am to 730 am until he passed away on Aug 17th at 7:45 am. It has seriously been the toughest thing i have ever gone threw in my entire life. every time i even think about him ill break down and start crying. And i don't cry easily. Just typing this right is making me tear up. He was the greatest guy ever and didn't deserve any of this and never had a chance to relax in his life. He always did everything for anyone that needed help and i feel so ****ing empty with out him in my life. I have been having really bad days where i seriously don't wanna go on living and idk why i'm still here. My mom was soo dependent on him it was ridiculous. She doesn't drive or work. and now just complains that shes bored and im getting so much stress from her and everything IDK. There are days where i don't wanna wake up, and I don't wanna go on. I have bad and good days but I'm trying to still go on. My father was 65 when he passed away. god rest his soul. I love him so much and miss him dearly!!

sorry for your loss bro. Always remember that he will always be with you. when my grandmother passed I used the gym to help me deal with the pain, in three weeks I had added 3/4 of an inch to my arms and 50lb to my squat. Exhausting myself in the gym helped me get through it because I was too tired to and sore to feel the pain.

OH man. Im so sorry to hear that.
Keep us posted. Talking DOES help things.
My mom had breast cancer. It was the worst time of my life by far.
Hang in the man and dont get too upset until you have the facts. I learned that the hard way.

Sorry to hear it, bro. Cancer sucks so bad. My dad died of lung cancer, too (2 packs/day the fool), it really sucked to see him go like that, this tough as nails Marine reduced to that state. Just be glad you had the time you did with him, and try to remember the good times and know that he'd want you to go on and be strong. Let out the grief when you need to, and just take it all day by day. He sounds like a great guy, I'm really sorry for your loss. best wishes.
