    Question I need help!

Hi everyone. Thanks to diet, cardio and weights I have watched my body change dramatically over the last 4 months. Everywhere except for my stomach that is. It has gotten smaller (lost 2 inches) and my abs are slowly but surely becoming definded, but it's taking forever!!!! And the rest of my body is moving right along. Does ANYONE have ANY IDEA about how to speed my overall weight loss (i know spot training is not real)? And can anyone explain why my stomach did not get the "it's time to lose weight memo"? Help!

I'm assuming its your lower abs? I think the lower abs are usually the hardest and slowest to start to show up. I've also been working my a$$ off for the past 4 months.. have lost 18 pounds... and my lower abs are still not showing up. I believe you have to get your body fat down below 10% or so for your lower abs to truly start showing up (I'm sure that percentage might be higher in some... but the last figure i read was 10%). I would say just keep up the hard work and you'll get there soon! Really in the grand scheme of things 4 months isn't a terribly long time. You'll get there! Just be patient and keep changing it up regularly to shock the ole system.
If it's to be it's up to me....

"There is no such thing as a small miracle. A gym is a place of miracles. People do things they once thought impossible--lifting heavier, squeezing out one more rep, finding discipline and willpower they didn't know they had. They're amazed at how good they feel and look, and they carry their new power into the world. This is the miracle I wanted to give to the world." - Joe Wieder

yeah. it's my lower abs and my obliques. They are like mutants living on the side of my body. all of other fat is melting away, and they are just hanging out like they are renting the space like a summer home or something

I know what you mean! My upper abs have made lots of progress but my lower ones have no definition. Oh well... I'll just keep working at it and i'm sure eventually things will tighten up. My scale is still going down so i know i'm getting closer to my goals.

    I have the same problem

I did speak to someone about it and they said to keep 3 things in mind

    1. women bodies (lower abs) store more fat there as "protection" for babies. That the body says there is supposed to be more fat there.

    2. it could just be genetics and that "little pouch" could run in your family

    3. your body could be retaining water.

I am still concerned about my lower abs as it seems to be the only thing that really is not shaping up and i hate the fact that my belly slightly hangs over when the rest of my body is pretty lean.

I did switch up my work out a bit with my trainer and things do seem to be getting better.....

    hope that helps
