confidence is great, but he has to know he cant win.
I haven't gotten up on stage because I know I don't have the desire or dedication to be competitive.
If you don't have that then its a waste of time.
I don't know his story though so I cant second guess his motivation.
At least he pads that divisions numbers though

Agree, There should be a requirement to compete.
If he drops 50 lbs i'll give him a medal, a fat kid learning a posing routine does not deserve to get up on stage with a real bodybuilder who has clearly worked hard for this competition. If i was the BB i would have probably walked off stage. As for your cliche if u don't believe in yourself bullshit Believing in yourself has nothing to do with being a fat ass clearly around 30% BF @ least. This has come up before. I do agree that the guy kinda made a mockery of the sport and should not have done it, However, there is a chance that it was not his idea. There is an MTV show called "Made" and in one episode, some fat sissy boy from Tennessee (figures) wants to be a BB. Peter Putnam becomes his trainer for 8 weeks and makes him do a contest. The kid looked about as out of shape as that guy in the video did. Putnam should have known better than to put him out there himself, but he did it anyway. If other stupid trainers have seen that show, I would not be surprised to see them do the same thing to some of their clients. Of course, some dumbasses are gonna do it without being told to as well, I just don't think we needed Putnam adding to the mix on TV that way.
That video is available online if anyone cares to watch it, btw.Roll Tide

For what my opinion is worth:
1. The pie-eating contest was uncalled-for.
2. And more importantly, I don't think he should have done the competition either, having the guts or not (no pun intended).
It's no different than the bandits who run in the Boston Marathon. Usually they run at the back of the race for fun and do no harm, but there are some so arrogant and obnoxious they get in the way of qualified runners and slow them down. That takes away from the athletes who trained hard and properly and followed the "rules".
If you know the requirements and rules of being judged in a sport, you either meet them, or you don't compete. This guy didn't follow the rules."Go home, have a beer and smash something. That's what I would do" - Unknown (but probably Thor).

It is so funny how all threads tend to devolve into crap after about 10 or so comments. It seems that the pattern is that a few people comment on the original statement and by the time it reaches page 2 a couple of "thin skinners" get offended and all hell breaks loose. I have been guilty of this myself in the past, but i guess grandma's "the golden rule" is very very dead in today's society. This was meant to be a joke peoples........ jee zeus

I don't care about how much confidence the guy has. The bottom line is that he ISN'T performing in the sport properly. Let's look at this like we would a sports game.
The object of the game is to
1. Display the size of your muscles
2. Display the definition of your muscles and low levels of body fat.
This guy has neither 1 nor 2.
So what the F*CK is he doing up there? What the hell is he showing off when he's flexing? This is like entering a stand up comedy competition and reciting the dictionary instead of telling jokes. This is like entering a dance competition and walking around on the stage instead of dancing.Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Wildfire can't melt stone masonry.
