10 pounds in 4 months possible?
Hi guys,
Guys I just wanted to know if I can gain 10 pounds by November end?
I'm trying really hard on a good diet...
Here's the present 3 day routine:
Sun: back, bis
Tues: chest, tris
Thur:legs, shoulders
Should I add another day?

Questions like this are very irritating.
I gained 10lbs in 54days.
You could gain 50if you want. Anything is possible, but that's not the point.
If you want to gain 10lbs *PURE* muscle in that time, well then 99.9%likely not gonna happen.

I would say that it is possible, but VERY VERY difficult. Im assuming here, that you mean 10 pounds of pure muscle alone without the extra fat it entails. Each person is different in terms of how they react to lifting and how much gain they can make in a few short time, but heres a general idea of hat I personally would advise to you so that you can have an increased chance of getting there. No promises, no money back guarantees... just advice.....
1) IMO, your gonna want a more intense routine in my opinion. What i would do if your serious, is to do a 4 day split. Legs, Chest/Tris/Back/Bis, Shoulders (not needed in that order). Take 1 day off to relax, heal up, and get back into the mental mindset. Probably best to plan your off days around drinking because alcohol hinders muscle synthesis.
2) Your going to need a very strong diet. When you say you want to gain 10 pounds of muscle, that means ultimately our going to be gaining maybe around 20 pounds or so total. Your gonna have to bulk up a bit to get that muscle on that fast. Do it clean, though. Some good foods include Salmon (Most fish), Light Canned Tuna, Grilled Chicken Breast, egg whites, cottage cheese... etc. Make sure you eat these lean, protein loaded foods every few hours, so youll be eating like 6 medium sized meals every day.
Your going to want AT LEAST 500 calories above maintenance to gain muscle. Id ay maybe 700 or so if you want to be pretty damn sure your growing 100%
3) Get supplements. You dont need a ridiculous stack of White Flood and all the other preworkout/workout/opost workout supplements.... Just have the basic: Some Whey Powder and a good Creatine. If you want to add in some glutamine, a multivitamin, and fish oil, it wouldnt be a bad thing. Supplements are your friends, but dont over do it. Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated

Yes, it might be irritating for you!
But everyone's not the same. You may gain pretty easily. But I don't!

no, if people gained muscle easy everybody would be a bodybuilder. Just accept that it takes time to build lean muscle mass. Though you do weigh nothing so you never know, just eat like 4000cals+ a day

Taking his stats into consideration, he is far from his genetic potential so it should be easy for him to put on 10 lbs in 4 months with most being muscle given that he eats enough and works hard.
TO OP - EAT MORE. You think you're eating a lot, but like 99% of the noobs who say they eat can't gain, they're not eating ****. Try 3k cals a day COUNT THEM, if you don't gain on that, push it up to 3500, and so on...

Oh come on, that's more than possible. Quit acting like putting on weight is the hard part. "Gain ten pounds" is not the same as "Gain ten pounds of pure muscle". I am 100% certain in 4 months time if you keep eating enough calories daily that you will gain that 10 pounds. Anyone who thinks it's impossible has never tried eating more.

I think it is possible to maintain your bodyfat % and gain that amount of weight. A lot of people don't realize that if you truly gained "Pure muscle" and absolutely NO fat, your bodyfat % would actually decrease.
As a visual aid, there are 50 green lizards, and 50 blue lizards. There is 50% green and 50% blue. Now add 50 more blue lizards, there are now 50 green lizards (fat) and 100 blue lizards (muscle). The percentages are now 33.3% green and 66.6% blue. Notice how no green lizards left, yet the percentage went down. The whole point to this is that I think it is possible, and you could probably maintain a similar bodyfat percentage.
