Brown Cinnamon Sugar Marshmallow(low cal)Ingredients:
8 grams of Oreo Mini Cookies crumbled up by hand.
30 grams whey protein
55 grams VitaFiber (THIS is the secret ingredient, BUY it. It tastes AMAZING and is AMAZING for you).
How to make:
1) Pour 55 grams VitaFiber in a bowl and heat in microwave for 30 seconds.
2) Pour 30 grams Whey Protein in the bowl after its been microwaved.
3) Put in the crumbled oreos.
4) Shape into a bar with silicon thing or hands.
5) Freezer for 45 mins
6) Microwave 10 seconds
In my honest opinion, those three ingredients alone taste better than a normal cookies and creme quest bar. Obviously a lot healthier too as you know exactly what's in it.
EXACT macros:
242 Calories
3 grams fat
54 grams carbs
(39 grams fiber)
(5 grams sugar)
22 grams protein
Now you can obviously cut these ingredients in half if you don't need that much fiber. But seriously misc, good af, and this is just the beginning. Will try stuff like cinnamon, mini marshmallows, etc.
NOTE: If you decide to buy the VitaFiber from bioneutra, GET THE 5000 gram jug! The shipping for the 5000 gram jug is the SAME as shipping for the 1000 gram jug.
5000/55 = 91 potential quest bars! Double that if you cut the ingredients in half.

You use the syrup or powder?
I keep saying I'm going to buy some, but I'm waiting to find a recipe that doesn't need to be refrigerated. The ones that you made, do they hold up at room temperature with a similar consistency/texture to real Quest bars? Quest Bars are great because they're so convenient (and tasty), but if I have to keep these in the fridge then it eliminates the 'convenience' factor of them.

So the syrup will solidify when mixed with the other ingredients, and left at room temperature? Even without your freeze + microwave method?
I assumed I would need to use the powder somehow...
Interesting, I might just have to grab some (last time I checked they were sold out but that was a while back)

Doubt those would hold up well being left in my car though, still buying quest bars.
Nice recipe though I guess.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

I've tried it, but tbh, like using the stuff in shakes more (the whey+syrup definitely makes some good bars though if you use quality protein. Dymatize cinnamon bun tasted just as good if not better than the cinnamon roll quest bar). Blend it up with some whey, almond milk, cocoa powder, and guar gum. Makes a thick ass shake and very filling due to all the fiber. I like quest bars, but if I'm actually cooking/preparing food with whey, mug cakes are my favorite. Heard the powder is good for baking, kind of wish I would have gotten some of that to try.

I won't eat a Quest bar because of all the fake crap in em! Pure health in ever bar my ass.
Although I hear they are quite good.
I do think your version is healthier and better for you.I like personal responsibility and accountability. When you admit you are the problem you are simultaneously admitting you are the solution.

I'm okay with people calling things like artificial sweeteners, walden farms products, etc "fake" (I still eat the **** out of them though), but quest bars? They're literally whey and IMO syrup, with a few random extras such as almonds, cocoa, etc depending on the flavor. Whey might not have much for micronutrients (which isn't really a problem unless your diet is literally nothing but whey), but that doesn't make it "fake"

This. There are a couple things that I make, that would otherwise melt if I didn't store them properly. Sometimes I'll bring chocolates I've made with coconut oil into work, and they tend to melt really quick. So I'll grab a tupperware, and throw a large block of ice into a ziplock so that it stays cool on the way to work. Definitely worth a shot.
Does look quite delicious, though.

THis is interesting, but I have a couple questions. Is that soluble or insoluble fiber? What kind of effect does it have eating all that fiber at once...Are you gassy or have ridiculous bowel movements?

question for you I actually ordered some of the syrup just yesterday.....what type of protein works best? do blends, isolates, or casein appear to work the best for this does anyone know?
I'd think the casein wouldnt be as good because it might coagulate a bit more than the others, while isolate might make it to thin....Runner Crew (48.6 miles Dopey Challenge -- Completed)

questbars use i****lto-oligosaccharides as key ingredient...although they probably just buy it in massive bulk
http://blog.questproteinbar.com/what...igosaccharide/
basically some protein, almond flour, and artificial sweeteners
VitaFiber™-IMO is the brand names for a health sweetener called i****lto-oligosaccharide (IMO). VitaFiber™-IMO is a new type of sugar source scientifically made from natural agricultural products and an advanced substitute of sugar, being naturally sweet and naturally low in calories than regular sugar.Runner Crew (48.6 miles Dopey Challenge -- Completed)

I use concentrate and it mixes perfectly. Honestly, i don't think it matters what type of powder you use, so long as you stick to the 55 grams Syrup/ 30 grams protein powder ratio. (Or 28/15 if you half the ingredients). It makes for a perfect, solid bar when shaped/formed.
