Just curious, since there are so many muscles being used and (not sure if its just me) i always feel dead/sore after the workout when say I workout back and abs i feel tired but not "dead tired". How many calories you think I burnt when working out for an hour and a half doing legs only.

of course.. but it also boosts your metabolism as bigger muscles, more calorie burning power...
When you finish a set of legs your lungs should burn, you should be so deprived of oxygen ... that's why intense training of legs leaves alot of guys feeling (or even) throwing up.CEO of www.BlueStarNutraceuticals.com

Allow me to give you my routine....the routine from hell which I anxiously await to do tommorrow.
Squats (2 warm up sets of 95lbsx8)
145x6 (atg)
155x6
175x6
185x3
225x2 (parallel)
135x8 (atg)
Leg press (total plates)
6x8
8x7
10x6
12x4
6x12(slow)
seated leg press
230x15 (atg)
180x10(slow-atg)
leg ext. (warm up of 100 for 20 reps)
180x8
190x7
210x5
140x12(slow)
leg curls (80x14 warm up)
95x9
110x8
125x7 or 6
80x12 slow
and then 3 calf exercises....prob equates to 150 reps
I train like a beast and eat like one lol.....at 155 and all these exercises I burn 650 cals. Take away my metabolic rate at the gym for the hour and 1/2 I am left with around 530 cals burned on a leg day.

Gotta Love Science
Legs will indeed burn more calories for one major reason, you lift more weight.
(You will have to excuse Metric measurements, I'm not from USA, Myanmar or Liberia)
A Typical Chest Workout for me results in me lifting 13-15 tonne, where as a leg day results in 30-40 tonne.
Given that work is defined as Force x Distance (The units of which are Joules/Calories or Newton metres) the greater amount of total weight you lift the more energy you expend.
Since your legs, as the biggest muscle group in your body can lift the most total weight in a workout, you burn the most calories.
Hope this helps when you need to explain to your mates why they shouldn't skip leg day!!
