Fitness Testing At Home
I was wondering if you guys conduct some type of fitness testing when you train at homes, and if so, which ones? As a lot of us may know, these can be good when evaluating progress, which can motivate clients. But other than the push-up, half sit-up, and sit-and-reach test, I don't know of other ones that can be conducted inside homes.
The YMCA Bench Press, Step-up, treadmill, cycle ergometer are best in labs or gym settings, which makes them impossible to do at home. Any ideas on other tests that you can compare to 'norms', and evaluate with clients?

Gray Cook;s movement screening is great---using just one or a few of them---I do one of these always---even when teaching group exercise---during the warm up--just to get a quick eval

Ehh, can't say I'm too familiar with Gray Cook's movement screening.

Well if you don't know this particular style of movement screening, best thing to learn is SOME kind of movement assessment. It can add so much more value to your personal training if you can convey this type of knowledge to your clients.
My favorite is the NASM assessments, namely the overhead squat assessment. You can tell stories with this assessment, and really focus on their problem spots.

For in home testing i can still do the step test as long as they dont live in a bungalow. Also can do the treadmill test on a measured route around their neighbourhood. As long as its done the same everytime so we get consitstent results.
