I wake up in the morning to look at my abdominal fat...and before I even rise out of bed I feel hopeless. The weird part about it is I?ve never worked so hard; cardio, interval training, constant strength training...I change my training every three weeks or so- sometimes I do five days of separate body groups, sometimes I double train for 6 times a week and sometimes I do three main (upper, lower, abs) and one full body. I keep track of everything, calories, what I eat, how much I lift and how many sets. I make sure I take a week off if I feel myself getting fatigued too easily...
I was on a low carb diet for months and it was going well, but I have become less and less strict as time has gone by. When I added more cardio and intervals I became incredibly hungry all the time. So, I started eating a lot more fruit- but was still calorie deficient by about 300-600 (opposed to before...a 500-900cal def.). I hit a plateau in my fat loss about a month and a half ago and in the last two weeke actually gaining fat, specifically abdominal fat...
I don't understand this.
I eat 5-6 small meals a day, complex carbs for breakfast and then fruit until the afternoon, where I switch over to salads and chicken. Ideally I aim for a diet where about 300 cal are coming from fat (usually almonds or hempseeds), 850 from protein (almost 80% from whey because I'm lazy and don't bring meals to work) and about 450 from carb. Last week I was eating between 1650-1900 calories every day (I'm 5'9" and am up on my feet/lifting boxes all day and then exercising so I figure my matience is about 2400) the extra calories mostly from fat, and a little from fruit and protein.
However, lately it's been around 600cal from carbs- not from complex, but simple, mostly fruit- could that simple little detail cause weight gain even when I'm calorie deficient? This started as a little inconvenience...a plateau and turned into a full-out downwards spiral.
