really a preferance thing and depends on what time of day you workout and how many meals you eat throughout the day.

carbs and protein should be in your pre workout meal. I personally like to workout on a full stomach, my last training partner would need to eat at least an hour before trianing.

Id def agree with about an hr, just on legs days u gotta be extra careful with what u eat. Try to keep it light whatever u do because getting nauseous from a grueling leg workout isnt the best of time!
