really both are at fault. i can see what the cop was thinking when some teenage girl tells him to send a fuking ambulance then asks if they are going to have a problem and threatens to sue. she shouldnt have been so worried about winning an argument if her situation is so urgent. im sure the girl was being a b1tch and threatening everyone and was cussing at them in the police station as well.
then of course, the cop should have understood that she was a little panicked and not called her stupid @ss and stopped to make an irrelevant point when there is an emergency and shouldnt have hung up.
in conclusion, all people are pieces of **** and should be killed.
srsly who doesnt get annoyed by these cocky spoiled teenage b1tches from time to time. cop should have just done his job and asked one of the cops to slap the **** out of her and put her back in her place while they carried her dad off.

Her dad could have died. The dispatcher hung-up on her. She had every right to panic.

yeah, but look at the conversation, she has to stop and try to win the argument rather than just saying my dad is hurt send an ambulance. read my edit, i can fully understand his frame of mind, doesnt make it right, the cops are expected to rise above trivial **** like this, but they are human as much as they hate to admit it.
the cop is certainly at fault, no arguing there, but the cop wasnt just being a complete @sshole to an innocent panicked little girl

Very true. But I know, that if somebody was obviously in panic, and they said "send an ambulance".. I mean wtf.. Send a freaking ambulance, even if you have to hang up on her.. but don't allow her to call back and still not have ran the call through for the ambulance. That's as bad as killing somebody IMO. (If he would have died)
Plus, i think she focused on winning the argument Afterr she realized that he wouldnt send an ambulance just because she said 'f*ck'..so i guess she just gave up on that part since he wouldnt listen
DETROIT - A 5-year-old boy called 911 to report that his mother had collapsed in their apartment, but an operator told him he should not be playing on the phone, and she died before help arrived.

damn dude ^that sucks;;i would think "never assume its a prank" if im an operator, etc

yes, i have said that as well. the cop is at fault. just making the point that i can see where he is coming from and that the girl isnt just an innocent victim.

i see what your sayin. im jus gonna agree to disagree. IMO, with his job you have to expect people to be in staright up panic mode, and you should completely disregard profanity when its a life and death situation. if he would have died this cop would probably be having some problems.

yeah, i mean the only reason i mention it is because the news just tries to spin everything in an extreme direction. they do everything in their power to make the girl seem helpless and make the cop seem like an @sshole.
the girl should have saved the intimidation and threats for later and worried about telling the cop what the problem was. the cop is supposed to rise above things like this, so ultimately he is to blame, but i just find the extreme good vs. evil spin the news tries to put on everything to be ridiculous. if you put yourself in the cops position just as a human being, i can sort of understand his thinking. doesnt mean it is right of course
should be fired and i would have sued for a rediculous amount of money and won the case
everyone loves the judicial and civil court. every criminal should rot in prison, no one makes mistakes. there are only good and evil people. until you fuk up, then it is a different story......
he should be fired yes, he has proven to not be able to handle the responsibility and put social inhibitions aside. but, his mistake did not result in further injury, therefore he shouldnt be sued.
the fact that he is embarrassed on national tv should be more than enough. it takes one media story with an obvious agenda to turn the mindless masses against someone and completely dehumanize him.
it isnt like these reporters give a fuk about the girl or her dad, they just want to rack in viewers for the network so they can make some money.
