Supposedly using a belt for squats and deadlifts will reduce the gains in waist size, as they reduce the need for core activation on those lifts.
Never really tried it, or bothered to look into it because I simply couldn't care less.forum rule

These two things are some of the stupids comments I have read in a long while:
What the hell are you talking about, so if you direct ab/core work you will get fat?
No, its a belt, it helps support your core, if you need any, it doesn't reduce your waist size. The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle.
