I would post some up, but I never tear my shins up, I don't have good form...

sort of pull and stand up straight at the same time, then have to use lower back to finish up.
This is off topic, sorry I hijacked.

Damn - wish I had pictures from a couple of months ago. When I finally started doing DL's I tore the sh$t out of my shins right below the knee complete with blood running down one leg.
I can't stand to lift with sweat pants on so I went and bought some velcro wrap knee braces and just wrap them around my shins instead. Works like a charm. Only one downside - I'm sure I look like a tool - but no more bloody shins.

That's exactly what I did -- wrapped shins with wraps on deadlift days. I felt like a freak with blood dripping down my legs especially since I work out at the YMCA so I had to do something. Plus I will admit the hole in my leg was getting deeper each week and freaking me out.
Now I have a nice little scar but other than that the bandages work perfect.
Sorry for whole body pic but it's from few months ago and it's all I got. Check out the left leg for previously mentioned gaping hole!
Man, that would wreck my lower back. How do you do that?
everyone knows that it's not a real dead lift if it hits your shins...
in my gym if it hits your shins the management asks you to leave and never come back, and as you're walking on your way out past the front desk, the people working there pelt you various objects like wads of papers and pencils ....

Was that about 450 with bar?
(Nevermind! I just noticed the tag on the video...455)

Lol, about a hundred powerlifting federations need to be sued then.

Not quite as fun as advertised. Lets make it funner.
LOL, I believed you mentioned her in another thread.

That was my "look at me thread" but I was a tad let down by the build up of a "fun" thread and the first image was hairy legs with red lines then the legs continued on down the thread.

That looks like some kind of deadlift/Romanian deadlift hybrid.

Sorry, no pics, but I have been known to bust my shins pretty badly on deadlifting day to the point where I've had to wipe the blood off the bar with my sweat towel before moving on to my next exercise.
Things haven't been that bad lately. I started going to a new gym where the bar on the lifting platform was chrome and my bleeding days came to a halt. Until recently, that is. The bar got swapped out for a plain iron one and I'm back to abrading myself. I thought, "Aha! It's the chrome finish that has been protecting my shins!" Not so. I measured the knurling on the two bars and found that the chrome bar's knurling is about a half-inch wider on each side than the plain bar. That's all it took, a half-inch, to go from cheese grater to smooth sailing.

Thanks, I'm gonna try those Velcro knee wraps.
Repped.

I like the analysis that went into that. My problem is my bar is so old that even if the knurling weren't there, the rough spots from erosion still dig into my shins.

I've about stopped dead lifting and focus more on rack pulls in recent months.
Takes the legs out of it pretty much.

stronger leg day for one (it is the day after back)
I can pull more weight of course so I seem to be hitting my upper and mid back better
I also am straining my lower back less, I have to be careful due to the surgery I had on my lower back several years ago. Not all my disk's are still whole
I will occasionally do full dead's, just to break things up. But mostly I stick with rack pulls, usually just below the knees.
