Sprained Toe

I know you aren't doctors. A week ago I sprained my toe. I was on crutches for a day, iced and elevated it and all that good stuff.

Now I'm using a post-surgery shoe on that foot, and getting around ok, but it's still a little stiff and I am favoring it when I walk.

Has anyone had an injury like this? How long did it take before you were 100%. I am thinking I'm okay to cycle or use an elliptical, but not most other kinds of cardio.

I slammed my toe straight down into a mat once during my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, damn it was painful as hell. I thought I'd broke it but nah. Had crutches one day but that was it.

Anyway took around three/four weeks to heal. I was lengthened out though because I thought I'd try and keep training with it.

argh!, toes

I've injured my toe a couple of times, my ankle more times than I like to admit, and mindi's right, three or four weeks should be adequate--but if you stay off of it, it'll be quicker also, get some arnica gel (find at health food stores, and the like) and apply it 2 or 3 times per day--that helps ALOT. When I sprained my toe, I also did the elliptical, just focused on pushing through my heel....

good luck.

Mine still gives me trouble and it's been at least 5 years. Sorry.

Certain shoes irritate it. I can deal with it, but after a long day at the office...I still feel it.
