Talking Health Drinks - Ingredient List (Collective)

[edited to hopefully make this a bit more clear]

Hey guys. I'm looking for healthy ingredients that can be blended into drink form, along with vegetables, fruit juice, protein, and those sorts of things. I'm not really looking for recipes here, though they are welcome. I'm mainly interested to know what kind of ingredients people are putting in their blended drinks.

Mainly, I've been thinking about buying a nicer juicer/blender, and would like to create some very FUNCTIONAL drink recipes for various applications (pre-workout, post-workout/recovery, before bed, wake-up). I don't care AT ALL what they taste like, look like, or about the consistency. I can choke down something that tastes horrible if I know it's good for me. I'm just looking for ideas of healthy things that can be blended into drink form.

Please list any healthy ingredients that you can think of that may be used for healthy blended drinks, and any other information you think may be of use.

Thanks.

I'll start us off...

Here are the ingredients that I've been experimenting with:

- GREENS -
Celery
Spinach
Kale
Cucumber
Wheat Grass
Sunflower Greens
Clover Sprouts
Lettuce (Romaine, Red-Leaf, Green-Leaf)

- FRUITS -
Apples
Banana
Berries (Blueberry, Blackberry, Raspberry, Strawberry)
Oranges

- SUPPLEMENTS -
(I prefer natural ingredients, but some sups are ok):
Protein
Creatine

- MISC (Protein / Carbs / Fat) -
Peanut Butter / Almond Butter
Whole Milk
Oats
Eggs

I know I'm missing a lot and the lists could be quite extensive, but I think a thread like this could give a lot of people some great ideas... Thanks again.

You know...drinks that's good for your body? You drink them to either help cut, give energy to help with lifting or recovery, or just for general health. Some people make green drinks, some people make fruit smoothies, and others make something closer to a protein milkshake. I'm not sure why you're confused, but I hope that helps.

Odwalla fruit drinks
Naked fruit drinks

Lipton great tea

Stuff like that?

Ya, stuff like that, but it can really be anything. Pretty much anything that you can drink that's healthy for you or has a specific health purpose (cutting, energy, bulking, recuperation, etc.). Stuff like the store-bought ones that you listed, but you make them on your own and add whatever else you want. I don't get why people are confused, but I guess I must be explaining it poorly.

I'm pretty much just looking for ingredient ideas of healthy things that can be blended into drink form for quick, easy, or on-the-go meal alternatives. I eat 6 times a day, and by blending my own drinks at the desired protein/fat/carb ratios, with plenty of vitamins and other good stuff, I can make sure that I'm taking in something good for my body and (usually) low in calories. I hope that makes more sense.

I also wanted to point out that I wasn't limiting the potential ingredients or recipes to stuff that fits my own particular ideal drink-type. That's why I was being a little vague. I'm also interested to know what kinds of blended drinks other people here are making, what goes in them, and why.

Okay, well, I dunno if this quite rolls with the "drink," part, but for the blender part:

1 scoop casein chocolate/vanilla
6 strawberries
8oz milk
1-1.5 tbsp. xanthum gum
1 packet Truvia/Splenda or Torani/DaVinci syrup

Blend. You now have chocolate/vanilla protein frosting. True story. You really can't drink it, but with a spoon it's mad delicious.
