Hey everyone! My name is Hollie and I am 25 years old. I am an LPN and I work at a Health clinic. I have a couple of goals that I would like to accomplish, one of them are to compete and hopefully win a figure competition. I was involved in cheerleading and gymnastics in the past so I would say I am pretty athletic already. I would just like to have a more toned and muscular body. My biggest problem that I have is not eating the right foods!!! I will post my daily workouts and I will post my beginning pics. I am at work right now and I can not post pics from work. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to comment and help me out. I greatly appreciate it. The competition is October 17, 2009, so I have about 12 weeks to do this thing!!!!!!!

I meant to update my journal yesterday but I forgot. Yesterday was Monday! I had to work from 7am-4pm. Then I went to the gym. Yesterday I worked on upper body for 45 minutes and then I did HIIT. I just started doing HIIT. I am trying to work up to 30 minutes right now I am up to 14 minutes.
Walk for 6 minutes at 3.0 with incline of 10%
Run for .30 with speed at 7.0 with incline of 10%
Then walk again for 1.5.
After I do the 14 minute run I cooled down. I am still working my way up to the 30 minutes mark. I felt like my heart was going to jump out my chest! But I am pouring sweat and I love it!!!
Then I did Abs for 10 minutes...........I LOVE ABS!!!!!!!

Yes!!!
Well.....forget working my way up to 30 minutes!!! I did cardio today and I dont know what it was but I did the whole 30 minutes and I think I could of done it for a whole hour.....the fire was in me. Even the girl beside me could see that I was on fire....she kept looking at me. I did HIIT...........all the way up to 30 minutes.
I LOVE IT! i wish I would of known about this HIIT 3 months ago!!
Must of been the peanut butter and watermelon!!! Who knows!!!
But I am super energized and ready to do this thing!!!
I still need to take my before pictures!!!

I tried to put my diet from fitday.com up here, but I couldn't get it. When I tried to post it to imagehost it did not work. But I will try again tonight when I am home, because my work computer practically blocks everything.
Today after work will be:
Legs, Shoulders, Calves, and abs
I downlaoded iFitness on my iPod and has so many exercises on it. I think today I will try
Legs:
-back squat
-bar squat
-barbell hack squat
-barbell lunge
Shoulders:
-arnold press
-bar military press
-bar upright row
-cable rear lateral raise
Calves:
-Alternating Seated calf raise
-Barbell Standing Calf raise
Abs:
-ab crunch on a ball
-abdominal twist
-of course i have to add the plank
I will let you come back afterwards and let you know how many sets and reps I did of each.

Well according to my iFitness thing on my iPod a back squat is when you hold the barbell behind you right where your shoulders are and then u squat!!! It doesnt explain it, it just shows pictures on how to do it.

Had a great workout today!!! This is what I did:
LEGS:
Back Squat: 18lbsx16reps, 20x16, 20x12
Bar Squat: 18x16, 20x16, 20x12
Barbell hack squat: 18x16, 20x16, 20x12
Barbell Lunge: 18x16, 20x10, 20x10
CALVES:
Alternating Seated Calf: 12lbs on top of each legx 20, 12x20, 12x20
Barbell standing calf raise: 20x20, 20x20, 20x20
SHOULDERS:
I have had the chronic pain in my right sholder that shoots up thru my neck. So I am not very good on shoulder exercises.
Arnold Press: 12lbs. each handx12, 12x10, 8x8
Bar Military Press: 20x12, 20x10, 18x10
Bar Upright row: 20x12, 20x12, 18x12
I COULD NOT EVEN DO THE CABLE REAR LATERAL RAISE..........TOO HARD
Dumbbell lateral raise: 8x10, 5x10, 5x8
And I did 10 minute of Abs!!!!!!!!!

THAT IS A GOOD WORK OUT!
For the rear cable lateral raise, just use a light dumbell if the cable is too heavy!!!!!!

Today I didnt think I was gonna be able to do HIIT. My legs are so sore from my workout yesterday. But I did it and it felt good!!!
HIIT: TREADMILL / 10 CYCLES / INCLINE 10% / 7.0MPH SPRINT / 3.0 WALK / 30SEC ON 1.5 MIN WALK
Abs for 10 minutes

I forgot to post my work-out plan so here it is:
Monday: Chest, triceps, and abs
Tuesday: HIIT, abs
Wednesday: Legs, shoulders, calves and abs
Thursday: HIIT, abs
Friday: Back, biceps, and abs
Saturday: HIIT and abs
Sunday is a day of rest!!!!!
If I am missing something please let me know. I am open for suggestions!!!

Today I did Back, Biceps and abs.
I was a little pissed because my gym was closed today so I had to go to the free gym on base. The gym I usually go to is an all girls gym but the free gym on base is for the men and women. I dont like working out with men because they take up all the benches and weights and ****. It also makes me miss my boyfriend more.
I didnt really work out that hard today because I was out of my element!
Back raise: 3 sets of 15 reps
Seated Row: 30x16, 45x10, 35x12, 25x20, 25x20
Arm Curl: 10x16, 15x12, 15x10
I am drinking my first protein shake that I made and it is soooooooooo nasty, I dont know if I will be able to drink it all!!! I am sure it would taste better if I had a blender, and then the chunks wouldnt be there!!!

Yesterday at the gym was chest, triceps, and abs. When I got to the gym my favorite Aerobics instructor was there. So I did Bosu Blast with her for 30 minutes.
Chest:
Dumbbell flye: 8x16, 10x16, 12x14
Dumbbell incline bench press: 12x14, 12x14, 10x14
Machine Chest Press: 30x16, 40x16, 40x15
Triceps:
Lying Triceps extension: 8x10, 5x12, 5x12
Seated Triceps extension: 5x16, 5x16, 5x16
WHEN IT WAS TIME TO DO MY TRICEPS MY ARMS WERE LIKE JELLY, SO I SUCKED AT TRICEPS YESTERDAY!!
10 minutes of Abs.
Today is HIIT and abs.

So I made this recipe for tuna patties last night for me to eat today. I just ate one and it is sooooo disqusting!!! I had to drink water after every bite to wash it down. Does eating healthy always have to be so nasty!!! I need some healthy tasty recipes, please someone help me!!!

Yesterday after work I went to the gym. I did 1 hour of Powertone with the instructor Beth....Powertone works every muscle group. Then I did 15 minutes of HIIT!!!
Today I am going to do HIIT........I will do it until I cant do it no more!!!
