Work related mishaps
Inspired by the most expensive thing you've ever broke thread.
We have a program that manages all ATMs and in one of the screens, if you press a certain button it shuts all of them down and the only way to bring them back up is to manually go out to each one and do it. Needless to say I was in the wrong screen when I pressed said button. So far in 6 years I have been the only one, and I've coined the nickname "Y-2-Kpat"...(kpat being short for my last name)
At work we have to send an email that goes to my boss, my bosses boss, his boss, and the CEO along with exactly 73 people higher up than I. It's an "End of Shift" email documenting what we fixed during the day and what is still being worked on. I somehow managed to leave the F out of "shift," which of course everyone came in to work the next morning with an "End of Sh*t" email at the top of their inbox. Awesome.

the only mishap ive had was when i worked in the dishroom of a pizza place/ game-room type place
i was using a water-hose to clean some stuff, as i was walking to the drain (the floor is even and there is a lowered part of the ground and the is a decline going to the drain, this is hard to explain)...anyways i was walking to the drain to put down the water-hose....as i was walking sown the declin i slipped and with the water-hose in hand i sprayed everything within a 5 yard radius(the water is boiling hot)...including my manager lol...i fukin shat bricks....i avoided eye contact as i stood up and turned off the hose

Dropped a few boxes of brand new games or consoles from a forklift, nothing major, seen a few good ones though where people have wrecked loads of ****, someone hit a sprinker with a combi truck and wrote off 100s of pre-owned 360s and loads of peripherals. We're always tipping over pallets of stock, can't always be helped, it's funny when someone else drops something.

100% deadly srs
Working behind a bar at a big upmarket hotel, people staying can order food at the bar instead of having to go to the seperate resteraunt ,so at lunch about 50 orders came in
Well fast forward an hour and a half and after countless amount of time assuring the customers there food will be here soon stop shouting ect. i realise for every single order i had not pressed a certain button on the till that sends the order to the kitchen for them to make and send out. (do not need to press this button for normal drinks service and it was my first week so i dint remember)
I suddenly realised, had an ohh **** moment sent through roughly 50 orders all at once, i heard shouting coming from the kitchen down the hall srs, obviosly by this time was sweating and getting all flusterded ect.
Then had the head chef call about 2 seconds later while i had people crowding the bar getting cross picked up the phone thought ''bollocks to this'' told everyone there they would not be getting any food and rushed out the back door never to be seen again,
It was sketchy getting out as you have to drive past the hotel to get out cus the parking is at the back, litterally sprinted to my car and sped away leaving it in turmoil
I lol about it now though, i would have got fired so i think being beta and ditching was the best option / saved allot of shouting

whos the genius that wrote the software that so easily can cause a fuuuuuuuuuuuu situation? Does it at least have a box come up saying "hey you pressed that one button you probably should never press, are you sure you want to continue?"

asked my boss the same question. he had no idea, but his guess was some type of safety protocol.
